PRAISE FOR MIXOL

"A cult-inspired art-pop artist who crafts immersive, multi-platform experiences built on with intriguing stories framed by haunting notes and empowering vibes in equal parts, Mixol is an innovative rising talent worth your attention."
-Earmilk

"theatrical, cinematic chamber pop and dramatic, spellbinding vocals."
-Loud Women

"an intense and passionate anthem on women empowerment"
-Chorus.fm

"recalls the zigzagging art-pop eccentricity of canonical voices like Fiona Apple or early Regina Spektor with a fresh theatrical twist."
-Hard of Hearing Magazine

blends art-pop textures with orchestral flourishes and eccentric melodic turns, drawing from dramatic experimentation and punchy immediacy while maintaining Mixol’s own surrealist identity"
-The Daily Music Report

"a clear position on identity, power, and collective experience, setting the tone for a project that moves bold, dramatic, and fully self-defined."
-FAME Magazine

"Mixol writes like someone who doesn’t buy into fixed meaning. Her songs shift between textures, voices, and emotional states. You can catch flashes of Björk, Kate Bush, Fiona Apple, and Sheena Ringo, but they don’t sit still. They blur, twist, and come back as something harder to pin down."
-Psychedelic Baby Mag

"Inspired by the likes Björk, Kate Bush, Fiona Apple, and Sheena Ringo, the promising singer-songwriter – and self-proclaimed witch – Mixol’s ability to craft enchanting but foreboding musical experiences sets her apart as an act to watch."
-Lyrical Muse

Today, Beijing-born multidisciplinary artist Mixol releases her debut EP, The Fool, a fully realized creative universe inspired by the first tarot card.

Paired with the EP is focus track, "a play of reincarnation,"
a theatrical, cacophonous whirlwind of chamber pop that explores the EP's central themes of jealousy, heartbreak, and revenge.

"It’s a song about some intruders who came to our witches’ kingdom, and we fought," Mixol explains. "A witch sacrificed her heart and put it on the pedestal, and other witches ate it, so she reincarnated and won the war. It's a story that’s a bit ironic, a bit funny, a bit medieval-Shakespeare-inspired, and very dramatic. The chorus is singing “Ki-Na-Ku-Ha-Ri-U-Su-Ame-Na-Giri”, which I used a bit of word trick in Japanese, which means mom’s here, nothing to fear, nothing to worry about."

A self-proclaimed witch, the 24-year-old emerging singer-songwriter seamlessly blends languages, cultures, and mythology throughout her work. Citing the "four mothers of her creation"—Björk, Kate Bush, Fiona Apple, and Sheena Ringo—as her primary influences, Mixol crafts a whimsical, magical sonic world that is entirely her own.

Blending orchestral soundscapes, sharp metaphors, and theatrical pop instincts, the EP feels expansive and cinematic — bold and emotionally unfiltered. Visually, the project extends into 8-bit, kawaii-creepy narrative games tied to each track, alongside cult film–inspired content across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

Rooted in tarot, The Fool unfolds as a fully realized creative universe — one Mixol is ready to reveal.

"a play of reincarnation" and The Fool EP are out July 24th.
