Out today, "Roll By," details the end of a love story and the quiet strength that comes with acceptance. Hartmann adds, "It speaks of surrendering to what cannot be changed and allowing life to move forward naturally, just as the waves endlessly roll across the sea."

Watch: "Roll By" (Live Acoustic Video)

The previously released project, La femme aux yeux de sel (Le long voyage), is structured as a three-part tale that tells the story of a woman named Salinda, who lives on a dream island and whose salt eyes melt with every tear she sheds. To heal her eyes, she sets off on a journey in search of the secrets of salt. La femme aux yeux de sel follows the journey of a woman as she transitions from innocence (Chapter 1) to serenity (Chapter 3), navigating life’s disillusionments along the way (Chapter 2). Through the songs, Gabi explores and grows, questioning both the world around her and her inner universe, reflecting on her experiences as a woman. More than anything, she tells the story of her emotions, joy from her travels, struggles with vulnerability, the melancholy that lingers, anger at a troubled world, suffering, anxiety, and ultimately, the wonder of nature’s healing embrace.

ABOUT GABI HARTMANN:

Gabi Hartmann, a Parisian artist born in 1991, has made her mark with a style that blends pop, folk, jazz, soul and world music. As a multilingual singer, she blurs musical boundaries and creates a dreamlike universe where eras and styles merge. After a critically acclaimed debut self-titled album in 2023 with over 20 million listens and 15,000 physical sales, she has performed at prestigious festivals such as Montreal Jazz Festival, Jazz à Vienne and Les Francofolies. With this album, she won the Golden Disk Award for New International Artist in Japan, and collaborated with artists such as Jesse Harris, Julian Lage and Oan Kim.

With her second album, La femme aux yeux de sel, Hartmann tells the musical story of Salinda, a woman from an imaginary island whose salt tears drive her to travel to understand her origins. This initiatory tale, structured in three chapters, explores universal themes: innocence, disillusionment and the quest for serenity. Through song, Hartmann shares her reflections on nature, human relationships, suffering and wonder.

Inspired by artists such as Miriam Makeba and Mercedes Sosa, she pays homage to Latin America and to influential female voices. The album also features a number of strong collaborations: Naïssam Jalal on Le lever de soleil, Laurent Bardainne for Ton monde secret and Julia Johansen on Drink The Ocean. The strings of Brazilian composer Maycon Ananias magnify tracks like Mélancolie
