(March 26, 2026) - Venezuela-born, Barcelona-based producer Safety Trance announces his debut album sacrificio out April 30th via Club Romantico/Mad Decent. Alongside the announcement, he shares new track “duro,” featuring Spanish experimentalist nusar3000 and South African-Argentinian DJ and performer Kinara. Their playfully sensual call-and-response rides a richly layered blend of deconstructed club, dembow, and synth textures, channeling old-school reggaeton à la Noise while pushing the genre forward. Amid the driving rhythms and kinetic energy, the track evokes a familiar late-night sensation: the intrusive thoughts that surface at a party’s peak when the music pulses and the mind drifts to darker corners.
sacrificio explores the ritualistic catharsis of the dance floor. The project finds the Venezuelan artist, born Luis Garban, transforming the club into a space of emotional release, where grief, desire, and darkness are offered up and transmuted through rhythm and sweat.
Drawing from early-era reggaeton, witch house, Memphis rap, and contemporary club music, sacrificio cements Garban’s singular approach to experimental dance music. Across the album, he fuses dembow with industrial textures, trance melodies, and experimental hard techno, opening portals between underground Latin club sounds and darker electronic traditions. The project moves fluidly between collaborators and moods, from the glitchy opening alongside longtime collaborator Arca (“the beat drops”) to sensual electronica on “most of me (is elsewhere)” with Eartheater and Sega Bodega, rave-ready club cuts like “no me quiero dormir” featuring Argentine pop disruptor Six Sex, and contributions from artists including Lolahol and Mexican experimental trio Meth Math.
“duro” follows last month’s single “except in spring” featuring Lolahol, a haunting and atmospheric track that first introduced the sonic world of sacrificio.
Safety Trance has carved a lane of experimental dance music infused with reggaeton that has caught the ears of iconic artists Dorian Electra, Sega Bodega, and many more. A key producer behind some of the most innovative and avant-garde music of recent years, Safety Trance operates at the intersection of two distinct sonic worlds. Appearing in the scene in the 2000s, he has dominated the warehouse circuit with the industrial, techno-forward aggression of Cardopusher for years. At the same time he has been developing another sound as Safety Trance, rewiring the DNA of Latin club music by offering an experimental take on reggaeton that has captivated audiences worldwide. After achieving acclaim as the architect of soundscapes by visionary acts like GRAMMY-nominated longtime colleague Arca, Safety Trance has positioned himself at the forefront of a new wave of Latin experimental electronica.
