“Has a knack for bathing introspective lyricism and spiraling melodies in rich, sludgy atmospheres.” - THE UGLY HUG
Brooklyn band Ringing, the project of bandleader Colton Walker, are excited to share the final of their debut album, another cycle in the cosmic wash, available March 20, 2026, via Julia’s War Recordings and Signal//Noise Records. “rose/bud/thorn” is out now, maintaining hope in a moment of transition as blown out guitars contrast lyrical vulnerability. Elongated riffs diffuse the tension, leading the song down a path of heavy catharsis and distortion.
“The song is about optimism in the face of change,” Colton explains. “Once you confront what you need to do, you can start to feel hopeful about the path in front of you."

In January, Ringing announced their debut album with “incandescent,” which premiered with an official visualizer. The song treks through sludgy guitars, capturing the discomfort of self-realization. The three-piece recently brought their gnarled, wall of sound riffs to Traffic Court Studios in Harrisburg, VA, for a live performance that is available now on YouTube.
Last month, “want2want2” premiered via FLOOD Magazine with an official music video, chronicling a fall into numbness and the turning point where everything changes. Slick drums cut through heavy drones of distortion, bringing metallic tones and raw lyricism to the forefront. “You could start living more consciously, searching for something more interesting, desperate for any anomaly,” Colton sings as the track descends into crushing riffs. The track was also featured on Alternative Press’s weekly playlist and praised by Glide Magazine, Nina Protocol, and more.

Ringing began as a solo project back in 2020, developing into a scene favorite three-piece in New York City. Known for their monumental sound and visceral lyricism, the band’s last EP, Is It Light Out Where You Are?, arrived in 2023 via Julia’s War and Candlepin Records.
After playing all over the East Coast over the past few years, Ringing has supported bands like Bleary Eyed, Shower Curtain, All Under Heaven, Soft Blue Shimmer, and more. On March 26, they’ll celebrate their debut album release at TV Eye in Ridgewood, NY, with support from Sun Organ, Wince, and many shining windows.
