WHIPPED CREAM is ushering in a new artistic era with her latest single, “it’s time to go home,” out now via Monstercat. For her first release of 2026, the Canadian producer and vocalist layers a dark inner monologue, conveyed through powerful yet gentle alto vocals, against a bold industrial electronic track with pulsating basses and intricate techno details. The carefully curated, multi-dimensional track addresses the universal themes of existentialism and desperation.

“it’s time to go home” establishes central motifs for WHIPPED CREAM’s new musical direction for 2026. In the song, the Canadian-born music artist who is Caroline Cecil--expresses extreme frustration with a situation and an all-consuming desire to remove herself from it, sonically illustrated with a steady buildup that grows heavier and louder as the track progresses. But by the second chorus, she introduces brighter production elements and sings in her upper register, allowing listeners to ponder along with her where “home” truly is. “It’s me coming home to myself — to the girl in the kitchen who used to hit record on her laptop and dream of dance floors she hadn’t stepped on yet. It’s nostalgia wrapped in cinematic synths, the sound that first pulled me into electronic music. I recorded raw textures in my own house so the record feels lived-in, human, imperfect in all the right ways. Home is a return, but also a reintroduction: this is where I started, and this is where I’m choosing to stand now,” explains WHIPPED CREAM.
