(October 1, 2025) - Swank Mami announces her forthcoming EP Worldstar, due October 29. Alongside the announcement, she shares her new single “PLZ” today. Inspired by the Euro dance music she grew up on, “PLZ” sees Swank Mami blending infectious club rhythms with her signature silky R&B vocals. The EP was mixed by Nathan Boddy (Mura Masa, PinkPantheress).
Speaking of the new single, Swank Mami shares – “PLZ is a really adventurous song for me. This song is the most pop song in the project I would say. It’s a mix of inspirations from kompa music and hard EDM synths which I really love. Music for me is experimental and I am very proud of this song – it’s shy, catchy and cunt.”
Born in Oslo with Somali roots, Swank Mami made her debut in 2023 with Eurostar, quickly earning praise from The FADER ("the antidote for boring raves"), DAZED (“Norwegian pop star tearing through the fast lane”), and The FACE. Her momentum even earned her a guest appearance in Travis Scott’s film Circus Maximus, directed by Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive).
Swank Mami has since collaborated with Oscar Scheller (Shygirl, NewJeans, PinkPantheress), and gained the support of artists like Arca, Crystallmess, Zara Larsson, and Jim Legxacy, as well as fashion tastemaker brands Sandy Liang, GANNI and Poster Girl. She recently opened for Azealia Banks in Belgium and will be making her Pitchfork Paris debut on November 5th.
