"Bell’s Renaissance." AMERICAN SONGWRITER
“Bell is fortunate, but so are we, that even away from the Erasure mothership he remains so giddily in love with pop” CLASSIC POP
"The Erasure frontman works out something open and anthemic on his latest solo album, with producer Dave Audé adding subtler shades to his post-house pop mix." FLOOD
"Effervescent." NEW YORK TIMES
“A radiant chapter in Andy Bell’s career, reaffirming his place as one of pop’s most expressive voices.” POST-PUNK
“His finest solo album to date” – THE QUIETUS – One of their Albums of the Year So Far
“The joyous spirit of Erasure’s synth-pop has long made it a fixture in the sonic wallpaper of public life. Bell’s solo work radiates a similar energy, and Ten Crowns is no exception.” SPIN
Andy Bell has today shared a brand-new remix by Vince Clarke of one of the stand out tracks from the Erasure frontman's studio album, Ten Crowns. The new remix arrives as Bell prepares to follow up his hugely successful UK / European tour with his first ever solo tour of North America. The extensive dates kick off on October 3rd and continue through December – full details below.
After four decades of working together, it’s incredible to read Bell’s reaction to the remix:
"Vince Clarke never ceases to amaze me. He has managed to turn an upbeat dance track, 'Dance For Mercy', into a soulful, deeply reflective, alternative pop power ballad. He gives the song a feeling which I never knew was there, but which tips the track on its head and gives it an atmosphere that I never imagined it could have. The drums are staggering and the guitar parts are completely inspiring. For me it's a masterclass in synth futurism.”
Ten Crowns, released in May of this year, marked a magisterial moment in Andy Bell’s forty-year career, and reconfirms that he is one of the great pop vocalists of our time. Travelling into new dimensions and possibilities with gospel in his heart and dance in his soul clearly suits him. It is also his most successful solo project to date.
Bell's four decades of writing and recording with Vince Clarke as Erasure are still going strong - the duo are currently working on a new album together and will celebrate their 40th anniversary next year. For Ten Crowns, Bell threw himself into writing with close friend Dave Audé, the Grammy award-winning producer, remixer and DJ. Andy and Dave had previously collaborated on two Billboard Dance Club Songs number ones together: 2014’s ‘Aftermath (Here We Go)’ and 2016’s ‘True Original’.

Best known as one half of Erasure, one of the UK’s most beloved award-winning songwriting partnerships, Andy Bell has a successful and varied parallel solo career with releases that include three solo albums under his own name, and a further two as offshoots of his one-man theatre project, Torsten The Bareback Saint. Throughout his incredible career, he has collaborated with artists as diverse as British Electric Foundation, Jake Shears, Claudia Brücken (Propaganda), Perry Farrell, Boy George, and most recently, Debbie Harry.
His ascendancy began when he answered an ad that Vince Clarke (Depeche Mode / Yazoo / The Assembly) had placed in the Melody Maker, and, after a successful audition, the duo formed the phenomenon known as Erasure. Their decades-long songwriting partnership has seen Erasure crowned Best British Group at The Brit Awards and receive the Attitude Icon Award, amongst many other accolades. Since the release of their debut, Wonderland, they have gone on to sell over 20 million albums, 5 of their 18 studio albums hitting the UK number one spot, as well as multiple Top 20 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. Their most recent release, 2020’s The Neon, debuted at #4 on the UK Official Albums Chart, and the duo are working on a new Erasure album project. Andy also recently received the ICON Award at the PEUGEOT Attitude PRIDE Awards Europe 2025.
The live shows will feature a combination of tracks from the album, as well as Erasure classics.
