(September 9th, 2024) - New York City’s rock scene is experiencing a powerful resurgence, and at its forefront is Telescreens. Over the weekend, the band sold out Irving Plaza and, amid the charged atmosphere, announced their highly anticipated album, 7, their first full-length project on Victor Victor. Set for release on October 4th, the album will include previously released singles “Floods,” “Vertigo,” and “Burns.” 7 is a culmination of the band’s evolution, capturing the essence of their journey coming of age in New York’s fast-paced music scene.
Known for their electrifying live performances, Telescreens have built a formidable reputation, rapidly graduating from intimate venues like Arlene’s Grocery and Baby’s All Right to selling out Bowery Ballroom and performing at New York’s Governor’s Ball music festival. As a testament to their growing influence and dedicated fanbase, the band played their largest venue yet, Irving Plaza, with support from Sid Simons and The Things.
The band is set to hit the road this fall to support Marc E. Bassy, as well as opening for Catfish and the Bottlemen at their ACL aftershow, and following the release of their debut album, they will take the stage for their headline set at ACL on October 5th.
At this point, it’s fair to say the band has already cemented their status as ‘an act that needs to be seen live’ while earning fans like Juliette Lewis and CELINE creative director Hedi Sliman, as well as media coverage from the likes of Lyrical Lemonade, V Magazine, and PAPER Magazine along the way.
Pre-save/order 7 above, and stay tuned for more Telescreens coming soon.
