"No Harm" was the first song ever to be written for FAUX PRIX.

Last December, Michael and Bradley were recording in a Trastevere, Rome Airbnb, when they decided to walk to St. Peter's Basilica. Upon climbing 551 steps to Michelangelo's dome, they realized with each step, the curved & tiled walkways were creating a long tail reverb that sounded incredible. So they took out an iPhone and sampled various claps and stomps that you now hear in place of a DMX snare throughout the entirety of 'No Harm.'

New Zealand born singer, Bradley Hanan Carter (NO, 5 Billion in Diamonds, Steriogram) says "Sometimes things are black or they're white, but why is it that seemingly everything that moves the needle of life.. all that is fun, exciting, adventurous and down right exhilarating is planted firmly in the grey! ?”

California’s newest indie collective FAUX PRIX (imagine if Leonard Cohen used Ableton) made their ‘anthematic’ dream-hop debut in May 2024 with the crescendoing "Walking in the Rain" off of their pending debut LP.

Originally dreamt up in the back of a west bound tour van somewhere near Marfa, TX at the end of 2015, FAUX PRIX became a catch-all diary for the subsequent eight years of life, love and living... experienced primarily by Carter, but also joined along the way by longtime friends, bandmates and collaborators Michael Guy Chislett (NO, The Academy Is), Devon Lee (Races). Spike Philips and Sean Daniel Stentz (both from Carter’s previous band NO).

FAUX PRIX’s second single, "That Looks Like A House" was released in July and was an indie festival ready banger that sounds like the upbeat getaway soundtrack to your less than perfect evening - like if The xx and Car Seat Headrest collided with guitars that feel at home on The Clash’s ‘Combat Rock.’
