(August 13, 2024) - Los Angeles darling Harmony announces her debut solo album, Gossip, due October 11th via Harmony’s Fantasy Corp. Alongside the announcement of Gossip, Harmony shares her new single “No Romeo.” The electro-pop banger arrives alongside a video directed, styled and edited by Harmony herself of a lively dinner party full of champagne, making out, and chaos inspired by Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet and Moulin Rouge along with Gossip GirlGossip will also include Harmony’s previously released singles “Miss America,” “Thot Daughter” and “Coke and Mentos.” Harmony was most recently seen performing live at FWB Fest and spinning DJ sets across the Los Angeles nightlife scene including Club Harmony, STARGIRLS, Honey’s, Club Chess, and more.

Speaking about the themes within Gossip, Harmony shares, “‘Gossip’ is an exploration of different angles of virtue. I wanted to play with the concept of goodness. You observe so many interesting people living in this world and it’s easy to judge them. Some of the people I characterized I know intimately, some from a distance. Some of the traits live inside me and I exploded them. I wanted to explore shame, parts of myself I think are ugly, shine light and offer compassion to them. I’ve dealt with moral scrupulosity for a lot of my life and I’ve realized the definition of goodness is so different for each person.”

Gossip capitalizes on Harmony’s unique talent of pairing tongue-in-cheek and societally critical lyricism with ear-drum-rattling and intricate pop production from the likes of Bamster, Wyatt Bernard, Ruben Radlauer (of Model/Actriz), Ryan Raines and, of course, Harmony herself. The 11-track full-length expands upon the universe created with her debut solo effort Dystopia Girl released last year, which includes the standout tracks “Good Things Take Time,” “Angel Kisses,” and “Shoplifting From Nike.” On Gossip, Harmony explores the dichotomy between judgment and shame in contrast with the ideology of what makes someone virtuous or “good.” Throughout the album’s tracks, Harmony delves into various characters and examines a myriad of personality traits – both the ugly and beautiful – provoking the listener to hold up a mirror to look inside themselves.

Harmony is a singer-songwriter who has made a name for herself with her poignant lyrics and delicate, evocative voice. As one half of canonical indie band Girlpool, Harmony’s songwriting has often been praised for its striking honesty and emotional clarity. With her foray into pop music which began with her aforementioned 2023 EP Dystopia Girl, she brings the same poetical fervor and olympic emotion. Harmony explores the complexities of the human experience with a depth and sensitivity that is rare in the pop music landscape.

Born and raised in Hollywood, amidst a chimerical bricolage of glimmering fantasy and brutal destitution, Harmony has always been taken by contrast. Glitz and grime abreast, her hometown prompts questions of artifice and authenticity, instilling in her a belief that being is a creative act. Navigating this tentative relationship with reality, Harmony sings of infinity worlds, reality restarts, and angel kisses from the next dimension. Gossip goes to show that Harmony is nowhere near finished building out her own shimmering and thoughtful pop realm.
