For the occasion and to pass the torch to the city of Los Angeles, they naturally chose to perform their song "Playground Love" taken from the soundtrack of Sofia Coppola's film The Virgin Suicides (2000), sung at the time by a then-unknown Thomas Mars. A true emotional moment, this ode to adolescence rarely performed in concert by Air and Phoenix together, touched the hearts of everyone at the end of these magnificent Games. The two groups perfectly embody that French style so admired abroad, known as La French Touch.
