The Chicago native who has been running Voltiv Sound (Los Angeles, est. 2015) released the debut EP Living in a Fantasy in Nov 2022 and follow-up EP Now I Know in July 2023. The music evokes some of the musician’s influences in the indie rock, new wave, indie pop, and electro pop realms, and is perfect for a drive up the cost, daydreaming, and learning to escape the absurdities of life.  Phil has been written up for his work in publications including The Line of Best Fit, The 405, Clash Magazine, Deli Magazine, Post Punk, Good Music Radar, We Write About Music and more for his work as a solo musician and producer/engineer for others. During his time as sole proprietor at Voltiv Sound, Phil has worked with countless musicians/bands, including: Magic Wands, Monica Martin, Cassidy Place, Family Company, DPR Cream, D’Arcy, Joe Sumner, Hey Boy and many others.  The 3rd EP Push My Luck, due out May 10, 2024, is an uptempo follow-up to the more muted, mid-tempo previous EP. The driving tracks explore the themes of love, trust, loss, twin flames, through the lens of escapism and surrealism. Second single and title track "Push My Luck" drops on out on April 17th. Phil says, "Push My Luck sort of speaks for itself… the song is about pushing your luck too far, especially with a significant other, and coming to regret it. We often show not only our best sides to our significant others, but also our worst, and this song explores that paradox with the gut hope that it will still work out in the end regardless because of the bond of love." Several studio musicians contributed to third EP, including Chris Valentine (Magic Wands), Alex Kyhn (Macy Gray, Family Company), Russ Mitkowski (The Weeknd), Kathrene Gawel (True Vacation), and Gadiel Mencia.
