March 15, 2024 – Hayden Everett, the San Francisco native turned Seattle resident, is about to embark on a musical journey that promises to tug at the heartstrings and awaken the senses. Today, Everett announces his forthcoming EP, I Miss The Sky, set to drop on April 26, with the release of heartfelt new single "Coma."
During the summer of 2022, Everett decamped to Glacier National Park in Montana, where he embraced his love for the outdoors and experimented with new tones and textures.
Armed with nothing more than an acoustic guitar, seeming "limitations" only expanded his creativity and inspired his upcoming project.
"These days, I'm allowing myself to feel whatever I need to," Everett observes. "There's a lot of pressure to feel a certain way or get back to a specific time. I'm trying to be alive and let every moment be sacred in exactly what it is and nothing else. You could say I'm looking up to the sky and allowing myself to miss it," he continues.
Everett's EP promises to deliver an eclectic mix of indie, alternative, folk, and jazz influences, all woven together by his unmistakable storytelling and raw authenticity. From the head-nodding drumbeat of the lead single "See You Soon" to the introspective piano ballad of "Coma," each track is a testament to Everett's unwavering commitment to living in the moment and embracing life's ups and downs.
"Coma" reflects on a past relationship. "It's about feeling like I was less in touch with my ability to see magic in the world," he admits. "She drew that magic out of me. I'm missing who I was with her," says Everett.
Ultimately, Hayden's music is the perfect soundtrack to living in the moment.
