ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Bad Snacks is a producer and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Boston, MA and is known for creating violin-infused genre-bending electronic music. Rich with lofi and dance influences, Bad Snacks’s catalog boasts an expansive landscape featuring lush strings, driving basslines, and hard-hitting grooves. From the studio to the dancefloor, her music resonates with audiences globally and has brought her talents to renowned stages such as Red Rocks Amphitheater (Morrison, CO), El Rey (Los Angeles, CA), and The Ogden Theatre (Denver, CO) alongside artists including LP Giobbi, Anomalie and Late Night Radio.
Growing up, she found a love of music early on and began playing the violin at the age of three. However, it wasn't until she moved to Los Angeles that she truly discovered her sonic identity as Bad Snacks by immersing herself in the city's underground music scene. There, she found the inspiration she needed to create her own unique sound, drawing on influences from a slew of genres including hip-hop, jazz, and electronica. She has since crafted a style that has been described as “gorgeous” together with “stank-face worthy”.
After going viral on Andrew Huang’s “4 Producers” challenge (4.5M views), Bad Snacks released several instrumental beat tapes to enthusiastic reception, establishing a sound often compared to the stylizations of J Dilla, KAYTRANADA, and TOKiMONSTA. Recently, she has further evolved her discography with releases like Lucky and BPF that showcase her abilities as a vocalist and songwriter. Taking a more expansive and upbeat direction, her live shows and DJ sets are notable for their dynamic energy and finesse for combining a synthesized violin and jazzy vocals over “beautiful, filthy” instrumentals.
Bad Snacks’ contributions to the global beat-making community haven’t gone unnoticed, as she has been featured on Brainfeeder's "The Hit," KCRW, NTS Radio, Dublab, and Kitsuné Musique. Additionally, she runs a successful YouTube channel (118k+ subscribers) where she posts content related to music technology and beat breakdowns. Due to her love for cutting-edge music tech, she has worked as a key demonstrator with several of the industry’s largest names like Ableton, Roland, Spectrasonics, and Moog. Additionally, she has taught as an Assistant Professor at Berklee College of Music for Electronic Production & Design.
Her love outside of electronic music and music education expands mostly to her dog Bean.
