PROVOKER ANNOUNCES 27-STOP NORTH AMERICA TOUR SUPPORTING SOPHOMORE ALBUM DEMON COMPASS, OUT NOW VIA YEAR 0001 Los Angeles-based post-punk band Provoker have announced a 27-stop North America tour in support of their recent sophomore album, Demon Compass, out now via YEAR 0001. The tour is set to begin on February 12th in San Diego, California and will include stops in San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Toronto, and many more, before wrapping up in Los Angeles at Teragram Ballroom. The band will also be performing three shows at this year’s SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX along the way. Pre-sale for the tickets starts this Wednesday, November 15th at 10am local time through Thursday, November 16th at 11:59pm local. General on-sale will begin on Friday, November 17th at 10am local. Earlier this year, Provoker also provided support for Glaive across 17 stops throughout the U.S., and played three headline shows of their own in Brooklyn, Cleveland, and San Pedro, along with a post-album release show at NOVO in L.A. with Eyedress. Crafted under the influence of a city where daily events flirt with myths, legends, and curses, this sophomore album channels rich darkness to tell a story of desire, loss, and confrontation. Written while waiting for the release of the band's esoteric yet pop-oriented debut Body Jumper, Provoker found themselves shifting their focus from projecting familiar, shadowy figures to embodying them — if only as a means of accessing the dregs of their internal world and confronting the demons that lurk even deeper. Demon Compass is a collection of songs that work together as an experience taking the band’s interest in horror iconography and desolate soundscapes to tell introspective stories about desire, loss, and growth.
