(September 13, 2023) - Rising singer-songwriter Chlothegod returns to announce her forthcoming EP, Nearly Straight, due October 13th. Alongside the announcement, Chlo also shares the second offering from her forthcoming project with the single "My Bad, My Fault," a bouncy track that addresses those that have wronged her while also poking fun at herself.

The lyrics from Chlo's new single "My Bad, My Fault" read as a lighthearted journal entry, detailing Chlo's frustration with herself as well as her implied romantic partner. Throughout the song, the artist goes in circles, shifting blame from her love interest, who she suspects enjoys "torment torture," to herself. Her playful yet humble tone paired with her relatable lyrics and upbeat production creates a musical safe space. Commenting on the single she shares, "Almost everything I do is for the plot and still find myself surprised by the disappointment of heart break. I Guess that’s my bad my fault :). This song sounds like the roar of celebration in the groupchat after finally breaking up with the person who literally no one was rooting for. Accountability for me is loud but worth dancing about and so is this song.”

Alongside the EP announcement, Chlothegod has shared that she will be opening for Amindi on her upcoming tour. The tour begins a day after the release of Nearly Straight and will run through the end of October. Tickets are available HERE.

"My Bad, My Fault" follows Chlo's previously released singles "Outta My Mind" and debut track, "Camille." Born and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina, within a tight-knit military community, Chlothegod discovered her passion for music during her teenage years. Growing up, her father's penchant for punk and alternative music, combined with her mother's love for neo-soul singers like Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, formed the foundation of her artistic development. The eclectic blend of genres permeates her music, seamlessly blending pop-punk anthems with reverb-drenched guitars and luscious R&B melodies accompanied by mesmerizing percussion. Chlothegod's ability to weave these disparate influences together creates a truly unique and unforgettable sonic experience, simultaneously venturing into new territory while invoking a sense of nostalgia.

Collaborating with friends and gracing open mic stages, she found solace and creative fulfillment in the world of music. Chlo's artistic journey began as a dancer and performer in theater, but it was a poetry reading at an open mic that sparked her desire for creative expression. Soon, she found herself working with her neighbor, Rush Kelly, a rapper with a bedroom studio, and honing her skills as a vocalist. Chlo quickly emerged as a solo artist, penning her own tracks.
