TENNIS the band: Pollen Tour Starts This Week

We are driving through America’s heartland with plenty of time to think about how we got here. I remember the first tour we went on in 2010. We didn’t have GPS and Patrick used a stack of printed Mapquest directions to lead us from venue to venue.

Night one we played a way too fast set in Omaha. Night two we played Des Moines to a thin crowd of Patrick’s extended family. There was so much to learn. Venue culture, touring etiquette and the technicalities of sound check were foreign to us. In Manhattan for the very first time, we sold out our show and believed it was a once in a lifetime event. At no point in that little tour did we think we would arrive at this moment, thirteen years later. So much has changed but the landscape has not. I-80 still carries us through fields and squalls. This comforts me.

Now we begin the biggest tour of our career playing venues that are milestones to us. The Beacon Theatre in New York. The Hollywood Palladium. The Riviera in Chicago. Mission Ballroom in our hometown, Denver. What a stunning, unexpected gift. Join us, won’t you?
