FIRST AID KIT SHARES NEW SONG “TURNING ONTO YOU” FROM THEIR FIFTH STUDIO ALBUM PALOMINO DUE NOVEMBER 4

PALOMINO UK HEADLINE TOUR THIS FALL WITH LOLA KIRKE FOLLOWED BY EUROPEAN / SCANDINAVIAN DATES EARLY NEXT YEAR WITH MAJA FRANCIS
Today, First Aid Kit has shared new song “Turning Onto You” from their fifth studio album Palomino due November 4 via Columbia Records. Listen HERE. In speaking about the track, the Swedish duo says: “‘Turning Onto You’ from Palomino is out now! A sweet love song. When recording this we wanted to achieve that old school ‘country soul’ sound. It was truly a team effort with an amazing brass section by Goran Kajfês and Per Johansson, a laid-back groove by Moussa Fadera, and killer George Harrison-slide guitar by Daniel Bengtson. Hope you like this one."

Written and recorded in their home country of Sweden, Palomino was created during a dark time in global history yet marks First Aid Kit’s most pop-sounding record yet. The 11-track LP was produced by Daniel Bengtson and features lead single “Out of My Head” and “Angel,” the duo’s first offering of new music since 2019 which they released in June. See full tracklisting below. Palomino will be available digitally as well as in various physical configurations including standard black LP, translucent green D2C exclusive LP, white indie retail exclusive LP, and CD. See vinyl / CD pack shots below and pre-order/pre-save HERE.
With regards to Palomino, First Aid Kit comments:
"This is the first record we've recorded in Sweden since we made our debut album The Big Black & The Blue 12 years ago! We worked with Swedish producer Daniel Bengtson at his lovely studio Studio Rymden in Stockholm. It was such a fun experience. We really let the recording take time, we didn't want to rush it.

The songs were mostly written during the pandemic. In such dark times, music felt like an escape from all the horrible things going on in the world. We wanted this album to feel more upbeat and cheerful than our previous album Ruins, which was a break-up record. It's probably our most pop sounding record yet. We took inspiration from all over the place - old acts such as Fleetwood Mac, Carole King, Tom Petty, T Rex, Elton John but also Angel Olsen, Whitney, and Big Thief. The title is a reference to freedom, learning how to stand on your own two feet. Growing older and feeling more comfortable in your own skin. Riding off on a Palomino!"

Following select North American dates with Lord Huron last month and prominent festival performances at Glastonbury and Way Out West this summer, First Aid Kit will embark on a UK headline tour this fall with Lola Kirke supporting. The Söderberg sisters will also bring their live show to Europe and Scandinavia early next year with Maja Francis.
