Laylit — a platform and collective of DJs and performers, kickstarted by Saphe Shamoun, Nadim Maghzal, and Philippe Manasseh — was created in 2018 as a means to celebrate the diverse music and artists from the Arab/SWANA region and its diaspora. Each Laylit party is a genre-spanning musical trip, highlighting the incredible diversity, depth, and richness that comes out of the region.
Laylit originated from the fact that there was little room in North America to celebrate Arabic music, and now attracts a very diverse crowd from Arab people and POC, to members of the LGBTQ+ community and dance music enthusiasts. Laylit has become a movement in its own right and draws between 600-800 people each edition.
This year, Laylit celebrates its 4th anniversary and to mark the occasion, they will be partying in cities across North America this Summer and Fall. This run includes an NYC 4th-Anniversary Party, taking place on September 16, where Laylit will be taking over all of Elsewhere. LAYLIT LIVE
