On September 21st The GRAMMY Museum will host The Music Videos of Fleet Foxes as part of the return of in-person Public Programs from the Clive Davis Theater in Los Angeles, CA. The event will take place on the eve of the one-year anniversary of the Autumnal Equinox release of Fleet Foxes’ internationally celebrated fourth studio album, Shore. The program will include the premiere of a new animated music video, a retrospective of the GRAMMY-nominated band’s videos from 2008 - 2021, and frontman Robin Pecknold in conversation with his longtime creative collaborator and brother Sean Pecknold, who directed and animated the catalogue of the band’s music videos, and moderated by visual artist Jeremiah Chiu. Since 2008, Sean Pecknold has crafted the visual narrative behind Fleet Foxes' songs, interpreting them for the screen in the form of music videos, short films and production design. While his chosen medium shifts dynamically between claymation, stop-frame animation and live action, his point of view remains singularly engaging. Employing analog filmmaking techniques, he creates stories that evoke a vast range of universal emotion whether his characters are lonely shapes, people, creatures or objects. This retrospective of his work for Fleet Foxes will highlight over 10 videos and select behind-the-scenes footage.
