Theon Cross returns with a timely and aptly-titled new single “We Go Again” via New Soil / Marathon Music, which was made almost entirely with sounds taken from Cross’ pioneering tuba playing. The acclaimed musician / composer’s latest track is an uplifting offering inspired by renewal and rebirth. "‘We Go Again’ is about choosing to forgive ourselves from moments of ignorance in our past and making the conscious decision to embrace a new day of reinvention and growth," explains Cross. “Although lockdown has been challenging, it’s also given us time to reflect and think about the changes we wish to see once we return to normalcy. Theon Cross is expanding the sonic possibilities of tuba playing and is at the forefront of the thriving London jazz scene. Reflecting his own heritage, the young musician melds jazz with dub, hip-hop, soca, grime and other sounds from the Afro-Caribbean diaspora. In addition to his solo endeavours, Cross is a core member of Mercury-nominated group Sons Of Kemet and has collaborated with Little Simz, Stormzy, Moses Boyd, Nubya Garcia, Kano and others. An incredible live performer who's constantly looking to push boundaries, Cross participated in SXSW Online earlier this year with both a live set recorded at Abbey Road Studios and, using motion capture technology, as a virtual avatar in a VR showcase. His sets were featured in the likes of The New York Times, Rolling Stone and more. Cross also recently performed “Panda Village” from his album Fyah for Grammy.com’s “Press Play” series.
