In October Baby Queen dropped “Pretty Girl Lie” which prompted American Songwriter to include her on their "Five to Discover: Acts You Need To Know" list. Uproxx and Billboard have also included her in their “best of the week’ lists. Baby Queen’s previous singles have found their way onto NPR’s New Music Friday playlists and have drawn comparisons to Billie Eilish and Lorde.
"Some songs portend the beginning of a new career and, we’d venture to say, this is one of those songs. It hits all the notes of a genuine, ubiquitous pop song. With a name like Baby Queen, there is staying power. There’s foresight in that seemingly clear moniker. It must have been like when people heard the name Lady Gaga for the first time. Here, Baby Queen, more than any note or couplet in the track, is saying: I’ve arrived. Get used to it." American Songwriter on “Pretty Girl Lie”
"as long as she keeps dishing up confections like new single ‘Pretty Girl Lie’ -- on which she drops the perfectly modern declaration, ‘I get more likes when I don’t look like me’ -- she’s going to keep earning that crown." Billboard

“‘Buzzkill’ (is) an electric, effortlessly cool single that balances its stream-of-consciousness snark with an arena-ready chorus; as we await new tunes from Lorde and Billie Eilish, make this alt-pop anthem a playlist add immediately.”
