CHARLOTTE GAINSBOURG ANNOUNCES U.S. TOUR DATES

CHARLOTTE GAINSBOURG ANNOUNCES U.S. TOUR DATES

Charlotte Gainsbourg has announced U.S. tour dates that will take her through several cities in April 2019, including Boston, Washington, D.C., New York, and San Francisco. The tour will also include her previously announced performances at Coachella, and comes in support of her most recent releases, the Take 2 EP and her last studio album, Rest. Presale will begin on January 31, and the general sale on February 1.

Produced by SebastiAn (Frank Ocean, Kavinsky) and mixed by Tom Elmhirst (Adele, Lorde, David Bowie), Gainsbourg’s last studio album Rest was released in late 2017 and was her first in seven years. The album featured named Best New Music by Pitchfork and was described as “gorgeous and assured" by NPR, while the New York Times observed “Rest is an album that comes directly from her heart.” The eleven songs on Restare nothing if not sure-footed, proffering a compelling fusion of gleaming, string-emblazoned modern electro-pop and cinematically textured avant-chanson—their magical music box melodies kissed by bruised, introspective, occasionally disquieting lyrics.

Take 2, which was released in December 2018, features three new songs and two live tracks, including a version of Kanye West's “Runaway,” and features the same musicians as her touring band.
