Jonathan Wilson Shares Video for "Trafalgar Square";
West Coast Tour Kicks Off Next Month
As he winds down from his globe conquering tour with Roger Waters, Jonathan Wilson is heading home to play the biggest headlining shows of his solo career to date, hitting LA, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle in September. Today, he shares a supremely psychedelic video to the track "Trafalgar Square" from his critically acclaimed recent album Rare Birds.
Of the video Wilson says: "I'm very pleased to share the video for 'Trafalgar Square'... This visual feast was created by the mega-talented Kevin Andrews aka Andrewknives, who is an LA-based digital artist that I really admire. We had been using some of his stunning and completely trippy visuals in my live show, and I really wanted to work with him for a video. He agreed, and I figured "Trafalgar Square" would just about be the perfect marriage of the whimsical and surreal music landscape with his tripped to the max visual - the monolithic riff and that Red droptop in the desert. Hope you enjoy it..."
Wilson has previously shared videos for "Over The Midnight", which can be viewed HERE, "Sunset Boulevard", which can be viewed HERE and "Loving You", which can be viewed HERE.

Critical acclaim for Rare Birds, out now on Bella Union:
"Wilson's latest nods at Zappa, Talk Talk, Peter Gabriel and The Byrds...Rare Birdsunpacks a wealth of sonic detail... This feels like a record you could lose yourself in for months." MOJO - 4 Stars ****
"...strikingly original, beautifully crafted and filled with powerful and memorable songs. With a lush rock sound that recalls recent albums by The War on Drugs, Wilco and others, Rare Birds uses familiar sounds to take you on a totally new journey - and it's an album in the classic sense, where the songs add up to more than the sum of their parts." - Variety
"Rare Birds has a fresh, pulsating, electric energy." - Relix
"The vibe of the city permeates Rare Birds, which features songs set on arteries Sunset and Mulholland and has musical accents that recall - but don't imitate - classic jams by Fleetwood Mac, the Flying Burrito Bros., Neil Young and that whole trip. Wilson succeeds, it should be noted, through a production sound that manages to combine both the contemporary and the classic." - Los Angeles Times
"dizzying in ambition ... dazzling in execution" - All Music
"Like Being There by Wilco, Rare Birds is an album about rock n' roll, and what it means to believe in its gracious, flawed spirit in an era where such an emotional connection to the music you love is drifting further down the digital stream." - Billboard
"Brooding, widescreen and ambitiously maximalist." - Uncut - 7/10
