The Walsall, England native burst onto the scene in 2016 with her critically acclaimed debut single "Blue
Lights". Jorja has subsequently earned accolades from major publications including The Fader, i-D
Magazine, Pitchfork, V Magazine, NPR, Vogue, the New York Times, Complex, New York Magazine's The
Cut, Elle, Billboard, Variety and many more. In 2017, Jorja went on to support mega-star Bruno Mars on the
US-leg of his world tour, collaborated with global lyricist Drake (More Life) and co-wrote "I Am" - her solo
single on the #1 Black Panther soundtrack- with Pulitzer Prize winner Kendrick Lamar.
After being named the 2018 BRITs Critics' Choice winner, Jorja returned to the spotlight in January with her sensational single "Let Me Down," a deeply personal and emotive ballad with an exceptional feature from
British MC Stormzy. Shortly after the single's release, Jorja embarked on her third sold-out 8-date UK tour
that concluded with two Shepherds Bush Empire dates, all reviewed to critical acclaim. This spring, Jorja
made her US TV debut with a performance of "Blue Lights" on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and appeared on an
episode of NPR's popular Tiny Desk series. In late April, she was selected to be part of Spotify's artist development program, RISE, which supports emerging artists across all genres and provides fans with a
special view into their lives. Smith released her debut album 'Lost & Found' in June, which included
previous hit singles "Teenage Fantasy" and "Where Did I Go?". The critically acclaimed album showcased
a rich culmination of Jorja's past two years of work. The playfully infectious pop spirit Smith embodies can
be seen interwoven with her youthful charisma, personal storytelling, and mesmerizing cadences, slating
her to become one of the UK's most beloved female-breakthrough artists of recent years.
PRESS ON LOST & FOUND
""Lost & Found" could make her the breakout star of the year." - VARIETY
"Smith makes the restlessness of young adulthood sound elegant." - PITCHFORK
"An album set to slot seamlessly alongside her heroes (early Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill) and peers
(SZA, Kali Uchis), Lost & Found balances sparse torch tunes with pop-spiked soul, all made distinct
by Jorja's dusky tones that can slickly slide into a higher register." - THE FADER
"The British singer's debut effort is free of guest appearances, and her star shines brightest guiding listeners throughout her 12-track journey of heartbreak." - BILLBOARD
"That gift-Jorja's spellbinding voice-is the anchor that holds the 12-song debut together." - PIGEONS & PLANES
"Over 12 tracks, she demonstrates the range of her voice, speaking fluently in falsettos..." - NOISEY
"There is an innocent naïveté to Jorja Smith's music, a refreshing perspective not usually found in American
pop's constant push toward the edge." - THE NEW YORKER
"British singer-songwriter Jorja Smith's voice is a force to be reckoned with." - PAPER MAG
"The brilliance of Smith is easily her tone: the way emotion moves through her voice in waves - knowingly, effortlessly, cool - even at her most vulnerable." - NPR
"Without actually signing to a label, Smith established her voice in the current landscape of hip-hop, alt-pop,
pop, and grime before she even released a full album." - NY MAGAZINE'S THE CUT
"British artist Jorja Smith has a voice - and now, an album - to listen to on repeat" - TIME
"She has a voice that can break through the noise, but she prefers songs with a tempered quiet-imagine Rihanna riffing from behind a grand piano." - THE NEW YORKER
"The soulful, evocative pull of her voice is often compared to that of the late Amy Winehouse. Like Winehouse, Smith also hails from England and has an affinity for jazzy influences." - ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY
