Global folk group Ley Line announces Brazilian tour and Indiegogo campaign

LEY LINE ANNOUNCES BRAZILIAN TOUR AND INDIEGOGO CAMPAIGN
Hailing from Austin, Texas, all female, global folk group Ley Line embarks on an international tour through Brazil documenting their journey through film and sound

(AUSTIN, TEXAS - July 3, 2017; source: Juice Consulting) - Austin's own global folk group Ley Line is currently on their first international tour through Brazil. Hosted by more than thirty venues between Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul and Recife, Pernambuco, the band will be presenting a vibrant collection of multilingual songs that traverse the landscape of global folk music and will be on tour until Sept. 1. "We are excited to see what happens when we engage our world folk influences in Brazil, one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world," said Kate Robberson of Ley Line.

With the help of a local film crew, Ley Line is producing a series of short documentaries and a visual album featuring the unique places, artistic collaborations, and people that influence their music along the way. The band recently announced a campaign via Indiegogo for this project capturing their three-month journey through Brazil and are seeking support from the Austin music community and beyond. "We hope our fans can experience the beauty of human connection through our music," said Emilie Basez of Ley Line. "This tour through Brazil is a socio-cultural journey. We are sharing our music with a wide range of demographics and partnering with organizations to explore music as a uniting force among all people." 
The multimedia project and international tour is independently managed and produced by the four women of Ley Line, highlighting a female perspective of life on the road.
"As we travel we find that we are a part of a global community of empowered women, inspiring one another to learn, explore and share our voices," said band member Lydia Froncek.

ABOUT LEY LINE
After touring Brazil as a duo in 2012, Austinites Emilie Basez and Kate Robberson met twins, Madeleine and Lydia Froncek, and officially formed Ley Line in 2015. In the summer of 2016, following the release of "Field Notes," the group embarked on their first domestic tour from Texas to New York. 
Ley Line's sound is grounded in the dynamic harmony of the four members whose diverse musical personalities moves them fluidly across genres. Songs rooted in blues, soul, and folk are infused with rhythms from Brazil, Latin America and West Africa. Vivid lyrics and innovative instrumentation express the peaks and valleys of the human experience.  
Ley Line's debut album, "Field Notes," is a vibrant collection of multilingual songs that traverse the landscape of global folk music, uniting audiences from around the world.
