HOMESHAKE SHARES "KHMLWUGH"
kissin', huggin', makin' lovin', wakin' up and gettin' high
FRESH AIR OUT FEBRUARY 3 ON SINDERLYN
"sounds like Slim, of 112, discovering Washed Out: toy synthesizers and handclaps sneak around underneath soft-wrapped drums while a bass line tells your brain which way to bop next" - New Yorker
"jangly, homespun pop" - Fader
"The chemistry is simple, and its payoff is unexpected and easy...a chilled-out force in its own right." - Pitchfork
Homeshake's highly acclaimed new album Fresh Air is almost here. Today we're given one last peek with his third single "Khmlwugh" before it drops next week on Sinderlyn. Consequence of Sound debuted the track describing "Deep grooves abound, as the Edmonton musician talks of 'kissin, huggin, making lovin, and gettin' high,' his voice intimate as though every word uttered is a sensual secret."
Homeshake is musical project of Peter Sagar, born in the bleak isolation of the secluded prairie city of Edmonton, Canada, Sagar worked with friends in a number of local bands before picking up and moving to Montreal in 2011 to begin recording under the Homeshake moniker. Following numerous releases, Fresh Air continues Sagar's exploration of dreamy, downtempo bedroom R&B and draws inspiration from such disparate artists like Sade, The Band, Broadcast, Prince, and Angelo Badalamenti. As the title Fresh Air suggests, Sagar's songs were created to clear his listeners' minds of negativity.
Next month Sagar is set for a NYC residency at venues across Brooklyn - stay tuned for more live dates TBA.
