Following her triumphant headline show last weekend at Somerset House, and with her new, BBC6 Music playlisted single Words Are Dead released next Monday 21^st July, Agnes Obel has announced a new London date for autumn 2014. The acclaimed Danish singer-pianist will play Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Wednesday 22^nd October, tickets available from 9am this Friday fromhttp://www.ticketweb.co.uk/agnesobel

Words Are Dead (watch the video here) is the fourth single to be taken from Obel’s hit new albumAventine following previous singles The Curse, Dorian, and Aventine. Obel has sold almost three-quarters of a million copies of Aventine and its predecessor Philharmonics, her 2010 debut album. Catch her live in session tomorrow on Marc Riley’s BBC6 Music show from 7pm.

Berlin-based Obel will be playing festivals across Europe this summer, including her UK Festival debut at Latitude Festival in Suffolk on 19th July. She will tour Germany, France, Netherlands, and Belgium this October, appearing at prestigious, historic venues including The Olympia in Paris, Royal Theatre Carré in Amsterdam, and Munich Philharmonie:
