Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds will return to the US for a fall tour in support of his latest release, For Now I Am Winter, available now on Mercury Classics. The album, featuring arrangements from Nico Muhly and vocals from Arnór Dan, has spurred performances ranging from one of NPR's "Top 15 Essential Moments" at SXSW (watch at Baeble) to his unforgettable performance at Le Poisson Rouge in NYC this past spring bolstered by a full 28 piece orchestra (watch at NPR), followed by a summer run of tour dates including an intimate performance at Hollywood Forever in Los Angeles.

Arnalds continues to steadily build a reputation as one of the world's most bright and able young composers, currently scoring the music for BBC's critically acclaimed #1 hit drama Broadchurch, which debuted in the US this past August on BBC America. The New York Times aptly wrote in the review of their program, "What Broadchurch has to offer is mood: a tasty icing of gloom and foreboding that leans heavily on the music of Ólafur Arnalds."  More recent television exposure for Arnalds includes an installment of The Colbert Report, as well as his song 'Old Skin' being featured on the hit TV show 'So You Think You Can Dance' in July, causing For Now I Am Winter to return to significant standing on the US iTunes Classical Chart. The album debuted at #1 on Billboard's Classical Traditional Chart upon its release in the spring to great praise and critical accolades, including SPIN, who gave it a 7/10 saying, "Winter is easily his most straightforwardly accessible and mainstream-leaning effort to date. Which is impressive," FILTER, who added that the album, "demonstrates several key growths in Arnalds' development as a songwriter," and Interview Magazine, who said, "at 26, Icelandic multi-instrumentalist Ólafur Arnalds has already accomplished more than many musicians do in a lifetime."

Since the release of his 2007 debut, Eulogy for Evolution, the 26-year-old, has put his name to a variety of projects and collaborations ranging from Emma Watson to Peter Broderick to Nils Frahm. Since 2009 he has scored films and TV shows including Another Happy Day, the feature film Gimme Shelter (Starring Vanessa Hudgens), as well as having tracks featured on the soundtracks to Hollywood hits The Hunger Games and Looper. Purveying a neo-classical style with an array of influences which range from electronica to minimalism, Arnalds is an artist who draws from a variety of sources whilst maintaining his own unique sound.
