Plus, No Age US & European Tour Dates:
June 19th - October 24th
“C’mon Stimmung,” is the first single from the new No Age album An Object, and it is an stunner. Available worldwide this August via Sub Pop, An Object is No Age’s 4th album, and the striking follow-up to 2010’s Everything in Between. The band created an atmospheric, “not-the-video” component for “C’mon Stimmung,” which you can watch & listen to now via YouTube.
No Age have scheduled an extensive tour for 2013 in support of An Object,
both as preview for the LP and after release date. The band’s touring
schedule begins June 19th in Antwerp, BE at Trix and currently ends on
October 24th in Vienna, AT at Flex. Highlights include: June 21 in
Camber Sands, UK for All Tomorrow’s Parties; July 25th in Santa Monica,
CA at the Santa Monica Pier; and a U.S. tour taking place in performance
art and alternative show spaces, that runs August 18th - September
25th. Please find a full list of tour dates below.
We at Sub Pop are exceedingly proud to help No Age present An Object
to the world. The band, in addition to performing, recording and
producing the album, is in the process of preparing and assembling the
entirety of the physical packaging for the album, including jackets,
inserts and labels, taking on the roll of manufacturer, artist and
musician. Check out recent No Age features with Pitchfork (see April 9 Update feature) and SPIN (see June 10 “The Making Of” interview), where they discuss their motivations behind the album and the making of An Object.
Sub Pop will release No Age’s An Object
August 20th on CD and LP and through various digital services. The
album, led by highlights “I Won’t Be Your Generator,” “C’mon, Stimmung,”
“An Impression,” and “Lock Box”, was recorded by F. Bermudez and No Age
at Gaucho's Electronics in Los Angeles.
More on No Age's An Object:
With An Object,
their fourth full-length album, No Age has forgone the straight and
narrow route, landing in a strange and unexpected place, feet planted in
fresh, fertile soil. This new LP finds drummer/vocalist Dean Spunt
exploding from behind his kit, landing percussive blows with amplified
contact mics, 4-string bass guitars, and prepared speakers, as well as
traditional forms of lumber and metal. Meanwhile, guitarist Randy
Randall corrals his previously lush, spastic, sprawling arrangements
into taught, refined, rats’ nests. Lyrically Spunt challenges space,
fracturing ideological forms and complacency, creating a striking new
perspective that reveals thematic preoccupations with structural
ruptures and temporal limits... (read more at Sub Pop).
