Nite Jewel will reissue, with the help of Secretly Canadian, her debut album Good Evening on November 11. Recorded when she was still a college student, Good Evening
was originally released on Gloriette Records in 2008. The album is
dance music on an intimate scale, drawing inspiration from Lisa Lisa
& Cult Jam and Arthur Russell, filtered through a lo-fi recording
process. Out of print on vinyl for several years, the reissue will
include two bonus tracks, a cover of Can forebear Inner Space's "The
Kamera Song" and a DāM-FunK remix of original track "What Did He
Say." Both are available streaming online for a limited amount of time -
one week only - starting today at Gorilla vs. Bear. Nite Jewel & Nicholas Krgovich's cover of Frank Ocean's "Thinking About You" can also be found there.
Nite Jewel recently released a video for the single,
"Clive," on her latest release One Second of Love. Directed by José
Wolff, Prefix calls the minimalist clip "disorienting and thrilling at
the same time."
Nite Jewel is on tour in August and September, with stops at Øya Festival and Way Out Westthis week, FYF Fest in LA and Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin. Plus on August 23, Nite Jewel will join Peanut Butter Wolf to perform Kraftwerk's Computer World at Le Poisson Rouge in NYC, with special guests Chrome Canyon and DJ Scott Mou. A full set of tour dates are listed below.

"…One Second of Love feels like the Nite Jewel equivalent of Meet the Beatles.
The image-- like the music it represents-- is forthright and clear; you
immediately get the idea that this record is her coming out party." -PITCHFORK "...subtle, synthy R&B swagger."-ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY
"Over the course of 10 minimalist collages, Nite Jewel
combines Italian disco, the electro-thump of '90s R&B and '80s radio
pop with the froth served frozen.'" -LA TIMES
"Intimate and charged, this is a superior ode to private desires."-NME
"post-record-industry indie-pop…Nite Jewel does analytical sensuality"
