ZIRP! will also include the previously shared song “The Fountain.” This is The New Alternative: a new genre for the 21st century. More specifically: a new genre for music’s optimized VC-funded super deluxe remixed AI-enhanced algorithmically perfected wild west 2020s, where a million streams is great, a billion even better, and a trillion well within reach. On their fifth album ZIRP!, DIIV emphatically and ecstatically embrace the underground pedigree and the pop instinct that have anchored the band like magnetic poles for the better part of their career—smashing them together in pursuit of a sound that pre-empts any notion that Zachary Cole Smith, Andrew Bailey, Colin Caulfield and Ben Newman have ever been playing between worlds. Put more simply, on ZIRP! DIIV answer the simple questions that so many bands can’t: What would it mean to grow up? And glow up, too?     For as long as they’ve been making music, DIIV have been victims of a world without the vocabulary to describe their willingness to braid the harshness of genres like shoegaze (on 2024’s Frog In Boiling Water) and grunge (2019’s Deceiver) with mellifluous and memorable pop melody. Over the years, the world has caught up with them, with artists like Slayyyter, Eartheater and Turnstile forcing old-guard gatekeepers to find new ways to describe this gleeful disregard for old-fashioned scene designations and genre tags. With ZIRP! – and their embrace of The New Alternative – DIIV lock in on a name for the universe they’ve been chasing for all these years, and a sound that represents the apotheosis of that universe.  Produced by British pop wizard A. G. Cook (Caroline Polachek, Charli XCX) – a chief architect of our current post-category future – ZIRP!, named for the zero interest rate policies that drew us into a world of failed startups and turned us all into atomised “users,” expands on the themes of Frog In Boiling Water with a newfound lightness. Here, Palantir, societal breakdown and streaming’s endless hamster wheel are all fodder for rich, sparkling pop songs: Album opener and lead single “The Fountain” pairs the sprawl and squall of DIIV records past with a jolting rhythmic guitar section that has arena-filling potential. Throughout, the band is zeroing in on its punchiest, most memorable melodies to date, each new internal hook and tossed-off earworm indicative of a band more than ready to make good on its ability to play in the mainstream. When DIIV initially approached Cook, the producer says, “it was in the spirit of destroying & rebuilding their demos, Screamadelica-style, into a finished product, but that hybrid, half-remix approach felt completely wrong to me.” Instead, he became a professor of DIIV studies, attending the band’s shows and forming a unified theory of where the band needed to go next. “I became a bit obsessed with their live sound, and insisted on recording live drums before most of the songs were even finished. We spent a lot of time recording intricate guitar parts with specific guitar pedals, and as little time as possible doing anything on a computer, at least by my standards,” he says. “After a few rounds of that, ZIRP! emerged as a concept, and a sort of utopian, dystopian mantra. For me it became a vehicle to push the band into new territory.”    DIIV will be performing at Balaclava Fest in Brazil on September 27th ahead of supporting Interpol on select dates across North America this October. DIIV will also perform with Basement on October 20th at Shrine Expo Hall. Listen To Trixie Mattel’s New Dancefloor Remix of Wolf Parade’s “I’ll Believe In Anything”

Wolf Parade has teamed up with Trixie Mattel, the legendary American singer, producer, DJ, actor, drag queen, and recognized “Skinny Legend,” for a new dance remix of the band’s breakout streaming hit, “I’ll Believe In Anything.” The fun rework keeps the spirit of the original alive while building into a driving and euphoric track for the dancefloor.
 
As strong allies of the LGBTQ+ community, Wolf Parade partnering with Trixie shows the kind of community focus and authentic engagement that is foundational for both indie bands and the gay community. Proceeds from “I’ll Believe In Anything” (Trixie Mattel Remix) will go to Lambert House LGBTQ+ youth center, which serves over 700 youth annually in 12 locations in King County, WA: “Youth come to make friends and to find resources. Some youths’ parents bring them to the door to find friends. Other youths’ parents have kicked them out. Lambert House feeds them, clothes them, and gets them into safe housing. “I’ll Believe In Anything” is Wolf Parade’s biggest song to date, due to its prominent use in the steamy hit TV show Heated Rivalry (see February 9th Vulture interview).
 
On Spotify alone, the original recording of “I’ll Believe In Anything” has now reached 110 million streams to date, with 90 million of those amassed since the show’s premiere in late November 2025. The song’s placement in the show also helped grow the band’s listenership on the platform to over 4 million monthly listeners.
 
Wolf Parade previously announced North American headlining and festival dates for fall of 2026, resuming Tuesday, November 10th in Calgary, AB at The Palace Theatre and running through Saturday, December 12th, in Toronto, ON at History. The announcement includes their headlining play on Sunday, November 29th at The Showbox at The Market in Seattle with support from newly signed label mate Lex Walton.

[HAAi credit Lamia Karic] Fresh from a string of festival dates that included a 100% production set at Maiden Voyage, World Pride Amsterdam, and WeCanDance, London-based, Australian-born producer, songwriter and DJ, HAAi keeps the summer energy high with her new track, ‘I Wanna Feel Like Someone’ feat. James Massiah. The track arrives alongside new DJ announcements that include an all-night set at EartH in London on 31 Octoberand a 10-hour marathon set at Refuge in New York on 18 October.   ‘I Wanna Feel Like Someone’ is the latest cut to be lifted from her dancefloor-focussed album, DIGITiSE (out on Mute on 9 October 2026). HAAi explains, “I Wanna Feel Like Someone’ is a track that is purely made from memories of my sets over the years. It’s a nod to so much of the music I play and have played, and was a really fun track to make for the dance floor.”

James Massiah James Massiah, talking about the collaboration, said, "Love working with HAAi, always grateful when an artist I respect finds a new way to present my voice"   The forthcoming album features several collaborators, each expanding the community that HAAi treasures. ‘I Wanna Feel Like Someone’ features James Massiah, who also collaborated on her previous album HUMANiSE. She expands, “James Messiahs vocals are an important anchor in the song and give it a moment to breathe in amongst the textural heaviness.”   DIGITiSE was originally planned to extend the world of 2025’s album HUMANiSE, but it soon evolved into something so much bigger. While immersed in the production for DIGITiSE HAAi felt that these new tracks emerging had their own heartbeat, and she soon expanded the project into a stand-alone album that further showcases this indomitable artist. Describing the album as its predecessor’s “bigger, ravey sibling”, she goes on to explain that “DIGITiSE holds the hand of HUMANiSE and walks it to the club”.    “I’ve spent so many hours in clubs - on the dance floor and in the booth – and I really wanted to put that into this new album” explains HAAi and DIGITiSE takes us on a genre-defying dancefloor trip, the kind that HAAi has become revered for.   The album expands HAAi’s community bringing in new collaborators Echonomist and Skybreak plus Cantoalegre, a children’s choir from Medellin, Colombia - as well as artists she’s worked with previously - Pat Alvarez, ILA, James Massiah and Kaiden Ford.   DIGITiSE continues to explore what it means to be human in an increasingly digital world. The pace of AI and technology, the division this is causing and the impact felt by many has only increased in relevance since the 2025 release. One antidote to this, for her, has always been to gather people in a room or on a dancefloor to feel community and unity, something she vehemently champions and nurtures throughout her work. DIGITiSE opens up to this spirit of community: from the collaborators on the album - who all represent unique and different voices in dance music, to the team who created the visuals led by Martin Falck (Fever Ray / The Knife / Icona Pop), a playful and camp counterbalance to the dystopia of HUMANiSE, and the live production team that brought new dimensions to the album on the stage, they have all helped usher us into HAAi’s vivid welcoming world.   HAAi, who was Beatport’s Artist of the Month in June, has been weaving elements of the new album into her DJ sets. The album was designed to be played out and seeing audience reactions in real time allowed her to refine breakdowns, tighten grooves and feel the physical response on the dancefloor. A series of intimate headline shows at the Courtyard Theatre, followed by a performance at the Royal Albert Hall earlier this year also invited audiences in to the DIGITiSE world early. These rare live performances, which will continue into 2026, have been designed to create intimate and immersive spaces where the lighting – designed by lighting engineer Belinda Best – works with the environment to physically draw you into the performance.   The album came together while HAAi was on the road for her intense DJ schedule. She expands, ‘I Wanna Feel Like Someone (feat. James Massiah)’ nods to those peak time moments on the dance floor, and, she smiles, “it pushes the elements that I love most in dance music, bass and frequency, and ties it together with Motorik rhythms”; while ‘Talking Walls’ (feat. Skybreak and Cantoalegre) is a sonic journey through some of the sounds and influences that have opened up to her from playing DJ sets. The track showcases both HAAi and Skybreak’s sonic worlds and the addition of a choir – Cantoalegre Colombian children’s choir – is reminiscent of the choirs that appear on the previous album, a thread that brings deep emotion to the track. “It’s one to hug your mates to at the festival.”   DIGITiSE picks up where HUMANiSE left of - quite literally: the last track of HUMANiSE fades out with the choir, which picks up again on the opening track of DIGITiSE before we hit the dance floor. Talking about the album, she explains, “DIGITiSE was created with intention: I wanted to make music I could play when I DJ.
