LONDON, UK INSTORE - ROUGH TRADE DENMARK ST

THURSDAY 11 JUNE

KÁRYYN today shares her 10-track new album PHYSICS UNIVERSAL LOVE LANGUAGE (PULL), out today via Mute. The project is the latest work from the Syrian-Armenian-American singer, producer, and composer whose music exists at the intersection of sound, spirit, and physics. Across PHYSICS UNIVERSAL LOVE LANGUAGE (PULL), KÁRYYN constructs what she describes as “emotional architecture”: music designed not simply to describe feeling, but to conduct it.

The album arrives following the release of ‘COLLAPSE PHASE’ and ‘END TO KNOWING YOU’, which together introduce the record’s emotional and sonic universe while drawing acclaim from Pitchfork, METAL, Glamcult, Kaltblut, The Line of Best Fit, and more. KÁRYYN also recently appeared on the cover of MusicTech Magazine and was highlighted by Women Moving The Needle, alongside Lola Young. Both singles arrived alongside videos conceived by KÁRYYN and directed by Jenna Marsh, whose collaborators include Charli XCX and Eartheater, and produced by Black Dog Films.

Latest single ‘ELSEWHEN’ unfolds as a pop mantra about nonlinear time, emotional distance, and the grief of being misunderstood. Across the track, KÁRYYN performs the failure of language in real time, rearranging words as she searches for a way to say what she means.

“The verses don’t describe the search - they are the search,” KÁRYYN explains. “I need a new alphabet, a brand new vocabulary, enough to say how sad I’ve been, how alone.” Words collapse and rebuild throughout the song, reaching toward emotions the existing language can’t fully contain.

At its core, ‘ELSEWHEN’ captures the dislocation of understanding a relationship long before the other person does - and the distance that remains when understanding finally arrives too late. “One day years from now you might wake up,” she sings, “just know that I was there years from where you are.” Less a plea than a transmission from another timeline, the track imagines love continuing to echo long after separation.

Described by KÁRYYN as “not an inquiry but a conclusion rendered in sound,” PHYSICS UNIVERSAL LOVE LANGUAGE (PULL) distills years of exploration into intimacy, perception, time, and transformation. Inspired equally by quantum physics and spiritual philosophy, the album proposes that the same invisible forces shaping the cosmos also govern memory, connection, and human relationships. “PULL is about the invisible forces that hold us, break us, and pull us back together,” KÁRYYN says. “It’s a framework for understanding my relationship with Self. This record is the sound of my human revolution.”

Built from voice, strings, modular synths, and gravitational rhythms tuned to 432Hz, the album incorporates arrangements informed by Armenian and Middle Eastern musical traditions, woven subtly through rhythm and melody. KÁRYYN’s voice remains the centre throughout, shifting between fragility, intensity, and control as the music moves between intimate and expansive states. Executive produced by KÁRYYN and James Ford, the album was co-produced with Hudson Mohawke, with additional production from Jacques Greene, Steve Nalepa, Luca Perry, and Duncan Fuller. String arrangements and performances come from Raven Bush, alongside qanun performances by internationally acclaimed Syrian musician Maya Youssef. The album was mixed by Marta Salogni and mastered by Joker.

At its core, PHYSICS UNIVERSAL LOVE LANGUAGE (PULL) is an album about collapse, courage, renewal, and emotional clarity, tracing the invisible forces that break us apart and pull us back together again. “I went hunting for dark matter,” KÁRYYN says. “Instead I found brilliance, light, and potential.”

PHYSICS UNIVERSAL LOVE LANGUAGE (PULL) is out now on limited edition white vinyl, CD and digital via Mute.

(May 29, 2026) - Virginian band Turnover releases their new album, Down On Earth. The band’s sixth full-length is being released independently for the first time in their decade-spanning career and includes lead singles “Nightjar”, “I See You And Realize” and “I’m Up I’m Up”, which was released earlier this week with an accompanying music video as the album’s final early offering.

Down On Earth is a foundational shift for Turnover. It’s an evolution encompassing fragments of the various sounds and scenes they’ve cut their teeth in over their decade-spanning career. Honed in with the help of their longtime front of house engineer Zac Montez, Turnover sought out to and succeeded in capturing the essence of their renowned live show to Down On Earth. The album is also the most collaborative in their discography. The band reconvened after 2022’s Myself in the Way and took their time, utilizing the course of four years to hammer out the shape of their new album in the room together, iterating and improvising on ideas, experiences, riffs, and stray lyrics that each member brought to those sessions from lived experiences and life changes over that span. The album’s cover artwork, a photo by renowned photographer Nick Waplington that was chosen by the band, exemplifies some of those broader questions with a photo that’s open-ended and presents questions of its own about human experience and the perspective the beholder brings.

“We never had conversations about the kind of record we should make,” frontman Austin Getz says. “Maybe reminiscing around the anniversary seeped into our subconscious. But at its core, Down On Earth was the experience of just seeing what happened when we played together, without holding on to a tight idea of what we wanted it to be.”

There’s a brimming confidence to the new album that could only come from the freedom of closing a chapter of their lives and opening a new one. Following the natural retrospection that came with their 2025 Peripheral Vision 10th Anniversary Tour that saw the band play the biggest venues of their careers, the band have found a sense of resolve in their ability to be unequivocally themselves and reach people with that earnestness. While that may not equate directly to any one scene, Turnover have fought through the growing pains of self-discovery and come out on the other side with a seismic new album that writes a new script for the band moving forward.

Turnover will also be embarking on a North American tour this Summer with Narrowhead and She’s Green, beginning June 3rd in Allentown. The band will also play festival sets at Governor’s Ball and Bonnaroo in June, and join Coheed and Cambria for a special show at Red Rocks in September ahead of their Neverender Festival in Santa Ana on October 3rd.

Today, Baby Jane — a rising independent electronic artist carving her own path in the shadows of EDM — shares "Alone With You," a new, trance single in collaboration with electronic producer/artist LONOWN. Though not on her upcoming album Winter Forever, it still lives within the same universe, coating the intense, physical momentum of EDM at the heart of each song with a dreamy, trance pop-tinted gloss. "It feels like the moment of waking where you remember the dream you had last night before it fades into your subconscious forever," she notes.

LONOWN, the prominent underground artist with over 15 million global streams per week and the current no. 1 song ("Worry") on TikTok, has brought the "angelcore" microgenre to massive popularity in the internet EDM community, introducing people from all over the world to his unique Eastern European techno-meets-ethereal synthwave style. First working with Baby Jane and akiaura, a renowned angelcore producer in his own right, in 2025 for the single "Deathwish", his continued support for Baby Jane's music and artistic vision on "Alone With You" not only encourages her to expand her sonic palette even more but also helps to connect Baby Jane deeper into the international electronic internet scene.

"Working with LONOWN has given me a sense of community in this dark electronic space that feels unique to our generation and presence online," Baby Jane adds. "I can feel a deep sense of similarity with our melodic and sonic palette."

Baby Jane sent a demo version of "Alone With You" to LONOWN last year, shortly after "Deathwish" came out. "I forgot all about it until he sent me this completed version a year later," she recounts. "I'm so excited for people to hear this one as I think it really embodies where trance music is heading."

JOIN THE COUNTDOWN FOR WINTER FOREVER

The new one-off single comes just a week after Baby Jane shared "Midnight Highway", a momentous trance pop song about a dark romance. It's latest single from her upcoming album Winter Forever, out Friday, July 10. The new record traces a spirit navigating nihilism and emotional desolation, only to find freedom through surrender to rhythm, to movement, to the body dissolving inside sound. Drawing from Russian pop classics and the raw micro scenes of internet born bedroom hardstyle, Baby Jane continues carving a lane entirely on her own.

"An album that I started with the intention of expressing loneliness morphed into an album of escape and personal freedom," says Baby Jane on Winter Forever. Allowing herself to push her creativity literally into new worlds — developing her own voice in the ethereal-meets-synthwave EDM microgenre known as "angelcore" — she has sketched a new universe with occult symbols, coven lore, surrealist horror, abandoned concrete buildings, pixelated video games, and desolate fields. It thrives in paradox, introversion, and escapism. Sadness and liberation. Isolation and transcendence.

ABOUT BABY JANE

Baby Jane has exploded onto the electronic music scene in the past six months, driven by her genre-bending sound, irresistibly catchy (and often viral) hooks, and a fully immersive aesthetic world. With a rapidly growing social media following of over half a million and a devoted Discord community known as her “Coven,” Jane is captivating a global audience and carving out a lane entirely her own.

Her viral HOR Berlin set spotlighted not only her distinctive DJ style but also her dark, gothic visual branding. She's continued to build momentum through electrifying live performances, where her hybrid sets blending DJing with live vocals create a deeply interactive and high-energy experience. Her standout performance at Niteharts Festival placed her among some of the most influential names in EDM, reinforcing her rapid rise within the scene.

Since the release of her 2025 album A Grave Marked Strange, Jane’s monthly listeners have surged to nearly 1 million. The album showcases her signature fusion of eclectic electronic subgenres, including hardstyle, witch house, jumpstyle, and hard bounce—culminating in what fans have dubbed “gothic house,” a term capturing the poetic, emotional, and shadowy nature of her sound. Standing at the crest of a new wave of internet-native artists, Baby Jane is redefining what the future of EDM looks like.
