DEPECHE MODE “MY FAVOURITE STRANGER” REMIXES OUT NOW

DEPECHE MODE
“MY FAVOURITE STRANGER” REMIXES OUT NOW
MEMENTO MORI VINYL WHITE LABEL REMIX SERIES DEBUTS NOVEMBER 10
PRE-ORDERS LIVE NOW

Depeche Mode unveils new dimensions of “My Favourite Stranger” with today’s digital release of five new remixes of the track hailed by Allmusic for its “pulsing menace” that “builds to discomfiting yet alluring levels of anxiety.” The latest series of reimaginations of a song from the universally acclaimed Memento Mori (Columbia Records), the newly released “My Favourite Stranger” remixes are by Boris Brejcha, Ela Minus, Long Island Sound, Sunken Cages and Al Wootton.

Meanwhile in the physical world, Depeche Mode announces the launch of the Memento Mori White Label Remix Series, a monthly drop of 12” vinyl singles building on the previously digital-only remixes of Memento Mori’s singles. The series will debut with the November 10 release of  “Ghosts Again,”  the first of these limited edition, individually numbered pieces. Pre-orders are now open for the Memento Mori White Label Remix Series, which will be available exclusively at https://lnk.to/depechemodestore/ in the U.S., and at select physical retailers in Europe.

On the live front, the third leg of Depeche Mode’s Memento Mori World Tour continues to play to capacity crowds and ecstatic reviews. The band returns to New York tomorrow for an October 21 date at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, to be followed a week later by the tour’s second stop at Madison Square Garden on October 28. With recent performances described by NOLA.com as “the best of Depeche Mode from back then, delivered with all the power and passion of Depeche Mode now” and by the Houston Chronicle as “a sharing of spirits and energies, with each other and the crowd that so clearly still adores them,” the tour’s second North American run will continue in arenas across the continent before wrapping with a mid-December four-night stand in Los Angeles. The band will then return to Europe at the start of 2024 for an additional round of European dates following last summer’s sold-out stadium tour. See below for a full list of dates.

Having sold more than 100 million records and played to more than 35 million fans worldwide, Depeche Mode remains an ever-evolving and singularly influential musical force. Depeche Mode released its acclaimed 15th studio album, Memento Mori, on March 24, 2023 alongside the launch of the Memento Mori World Tour, which has since played to well over two million fans and has been extended into 2024 due to overwhelming demand. An indelible inspiration to fans, critics and artists alike, Depeche Mode continues to forge ahead, with the Memento Mori album and tour representing the newest chapter of a peerless and ongoing legacy.

Kindred spirits Momma and Narrow Head are thrilled to cover each other’s recent singles, Medicine” and “Sunday.”  “Momma is one of those bands that we were hooked on immediately, we would play ‘Medicine’ at soundcheck all of the time,” Narrow Head comment. Momma tell, “We’ve both been big fans of each other’s bands for a while. A year or so ago the idea was floated around about doing a cover of each other’s songs. When Jacob [Narrow Head guitarist/vocalist] sent Allegra a video of them covering ‘Medicine’ during soundcheck, we were like, OK we have to actually do this.”

SEN MORIMOTO CONCLUDES VIDEO TRILOGY WITH NEW SONG + ALBUM OUT THIS FRIDAY

SEN MORIMOTO CONCLUDES VIDEO TRILOGY WITH NEW SONG “PRESSURE ON THE PULSE”; WATCH

NEW ALBUM OUT THIS FRIDAY NOVEMBER 3RD

[New Trash Crew]

Sen Morimoto is releasing his third album Diagnosis, this Friday and today he’s dropped the final single, “Pressure On The Pulse,” a devastatingly intimate, quiet song that then explodes into an exuberant, animated whirlwind of sax and drums. The song arrives with a video starring Chicago comedy, drag and music icon Alex Grelle, concluding an over-the-top comedic trilogy that explores the albums narrative arc.

The trilogy, directed by Morimoto and New Trash film crew, take a sardonic jab at the music industry and the pitfalls of capitalism in a looped timeline farce that follows a convenience store clerk who sells his soul for stardom (“Diagnosis”). Initially intending to use his art to “help people and stuff”, Sen ends up falling prey to the vampiric nature of the music industry, ultimately falling to his death from a steal beam above the Chicago skyline while filming a music video (“If The Answer Isn’t Love”). The final installment of the trilogy “Pressure On The Pulse” finds an evil record label executive (Alex Grelle) celebrating the profits of Sen’s posthumous album streams in an unhinged dance sequence, even as Morimoto resurrects from the dead. With visual references to films like Phantom Of The ParadiseClerks, and The Crow, the visual universe of Diagnosis calls back to MTV era Spike Jonze and Michel Gondry music videos, using humor to balance and deliver the album’s earnest message.

While the video trilogy offers a look into the artist’s diagnosis of the music industry around him, it is merely one current in the larger universe of big-idea topics subject to Morimoto’s powerful interrogation (and saxophone) on his outward-looking 3rd LP Diagnosis due out this Friday.

Allie X Unveils Bewitching Video For "Black Eye" - Out Now!

NEW TREAT, NO TRICKS!

ALLIE X UNVEILS A BEWITCHING VIDEO FOR “BLACK EYE” – WATCH HERE

October 31, 2023 (Los Angeles, CA) – In honor of the spooky holiday, pop savant Allie X unveils a bewitching video for her latest release, “Black Eye” – watch HERE. Self-directed by Allie herself, the video emphasizes the track’s icy, industrial production and evocative vocals as it finds the multi-hyphenate amid a chess game with her shadow. As the gothic visual progresses, it’s clear that the chess game turns into real life, and she embraces the chaos of it all.

About the video, Allie shares, “I decided to direct the official music video for Black Eye, which was a first for me. A reference to Dada artist Marcel Duchamp and his fascination with chess, we watch the game begin between myself and a masked opponent.  As the video goes on, the board becomes life sized and the pieces turn into dancers.  I join in the dance and embrace the struggle. Parallels are drawn between art, life, good and evil and the gamification of all of it. Done with a wink and a bit of camp.  Just like the song.”

Stay tuned for more from Allie X soon!

Introducing... VICTORIA BIGELOW | Watch David Fincher-Inspired Video for "Panic Room"

INTRODUCING…

SONGS FOR NO ONE VOL. 1

NEW EP OUT NOW VIA IMMORTAL RECORDS

“the track echoes the wide-open spaces of Bigelow’s home state while the occasional vocal similarities to Lana Del Rey make the femme-fatale narrative of Gone Girl an apt fit”

Victoria Bigelow and her music tell stories of heartbreak and bittersweet hope, mostly written with no-one else around, but here to help all of us feel a little less alone. The Arizona-based artist recently released her Songs For No One Vol. 1 via the recently relaunched Immortal Records. Today, Bigelow shares the video for the EP’s powerful track, “Panic Room” -- a song which she notes, “...is about my struggle with anxiety, and the moments when you have someone who loves you there to help talk you through it.”

Watch the “Panic Room” video, filmed by Devan Skaggs and co-directed by Skaggs and Bigelow, here: https://youtu.be/zTtZvB6UtVc

WATCH & SHARE “PANIC ROOM”

“For the video, we decided to play into the ‘Panic Room’ title and create just that,” notes Bigelow. “As someone that loves Halloween and the thrill of not knowing what’s around the corner during the season, we wanted to create a visual that has a similar anxious, unsafe vibe. And I wanted to pay homage to one of my favorite books and movies, Gone Girl!

Life’s different when you live in the desert. It’s beautiful. It’s intense. It’s still. And that’s what made it the perfect place for Bigelow to create Songs For No One Vol. 1. Exploring themes of isolation, modern society, and authenticity, with a voice full of empowerment, strength and hard-won wisdom.

Victoria Bigelow’s moody yet hopeful music has drawn comparisons with Weyes Blood, Angel Olsen, and Mazzy Star – all of whom the musician has found inspiration from. But her first inspiration to create music came when Marietta, GA-raised Bigelow’s mother bought her a $10 guitar to celebrate her turning twelve. The next day she wrote her first song and, ten years later as a young new mother cradling her newborn son in her arms, Bigelow wrote her breakthrough single “Low.”

Look for much more from Victoria Bigelow in the coming months including a new set of songs expected in early 2024.
