twst, the project of Welsh songwriter, vocalist and producer Chloé Davis, unveils a remix of her track “sad girls club but u gotta be cute” from groundbreaking Argentinian producer and NAAFI affiliate Tayhana today—listen here. twst’s debut EP, TWST0001, is set for release this spring.

The EP will feature previously released tracks, including “Are You Listening?—which earned twst her first Radio 1 play with Annie Mac last week—“Always” and “Girl On Your TV,” all of which she co-produced with Danio Forni. The previously unveiled original version of “sad girls club but u gotta be cute,” which premiered via V Magazine, finds twst producing on her own. The Tayhana remix of “sad girls club but u gotta be cute” follows previously shared remixes of “Girl On Your TV” by Clams Casino—listen here, and Strict Face—listen here.

Born and raised in Barry, Wales, twst grew up working in her father’s chicken factory. At 14, she left home and formal education and relocated to a recording studio in the South Wales Valleys where she began teaching herself about music production and pop culture. Now based in London, twst writes, produces and directs all of her music and videos, mostly within the four walls of her bedroom, and frequently collaborates with other creatives she has befriended from London’s close-knit music community.

	March 31, SAN FRANCISCO -- Covet, the Bay Area outfit featuring Yvette Young (guitar/vocals), David Adamiak (bass) and Forrest Rice (drums), return with their sophomore album, technicolor, setting a June 5 release date for the Triple Crown Records release. “There are so many textures and types of songs that it’s a new direction for us,” explains Yvette, who, for the first time in the band’s history, lends her lyrics and vocals to songs “Parachute” and “Farewell.” “Some of them have a nostalgic feel. Others can be quite heavy. Technicolor traditionally is a technique used to colorize old film. In the same spirit, we’re taking these sounds and developing them. The word encapsulates what we set out to do.” “The album features more colors in terms of not just the effects, but the songwriting and the rhythms,” agrees David. “When you compile everything together, it’s our most diverse body of work yet. “We’ve never had vocals with lyrics before. Following on from six days of digital events produced in quarantine due to the outbreak of COVID-19, today progressive pop powerhouse Charli XCX today announces a renewed schedule of Instagram livestreams to provide entertainment for those in coronavirus induced self-isolation. Starting today (30th March) with a vocal coaching session with Swedish singer songwriter Tove Lo, the sessions aim for interactivity, with fans encouraged to comment on the sessions and take part from the comfort of their home. Tuesday’s event sees Charli team up with Los Angeles based multimedia artist Lucas David for a life drawing class sure to be tinged with his own surrealist stylings, before getting zen with Ashnikko for yoga practice. Rina Sawayama steps up on Thursday to take part in the psychopath test alongside Charli, with enigmatic country star Orville Peck giving Charli a glimpse into her future with a horoscope reading on Friday. Today, Allen Stone has fulfilled a long-standing wish of his fans with the release of a Tiny Desk performance that is sure-to-be one of the most soulfully moving NPR sessions in recent years. 

Allen brought to the legendary DC HQ of NPR the meticulously constructed stripped-down reimaginings of “Consider Me” (which GQ recently called one of the “best love songs of 2020”), “Give You Blue” (a touching ode to devotion he wrote with Mike Posner for his wife shortly after proposing), his rousing unanimous fan-favorite “Brown Eyed Lover,” and “American Privilege”, a song that feels especially poignant in the midst of the current public health situation and political climate.

Whether in the studio recording his acclaimed latest album ‘Building Balance’ (out on ATO Records), performing live for thousands of people nightly on the record’s corresponding tour (35k tickets sold throughout his entire US run), or singing face-to-face with fans as part of his unprecedented 2019 “Karaoke Extravaganza” tour, Allen brings to life his expertly-written slice-of-life soul with heartfelt integrity, vocals that seem to defy gravity, and an effortlessly irresistible charisma.

Today’s Tiny Desk is no exception, with Allen’s charm & spirit-shaking vocals on perfect & full display, accompanied by the likes of pianist Michael Elson and vocally backed the powerhouse trio of Jessica Childress, Moorea Masa, & Raquel Rodriguez. NPR Music producer Bobby Carter echoed this sentiment saying, "I've been an Allen Stone fan for quite some time and I knew it was only a matter of time before he played the Tiny Desk. He approached his set like he's done it ten times over and delivered a perfect career snapshot. Instantly one of my favorite shows to produce."

“It’s always been a dream of mine to be on, or I guess behind the Tiny Desk," said Allen. "It’s really special to perform in a stripped-down environment like that where everyone has to listen to each other, no glitz, no glamour, just pure raw music. The remainder of Allen’s stateside tour (including three sold-out shows in his beloved home city of Seattle) have been postponed and will be rescheduled soon. In this moment of global unrest, Allen is also working to give back, recently performing as part of Billboard’s “Live At-Home” series and raising money for an organization of his choosing (LA’s Downtown Women’s Center).
