Julia Jacklin will be joining First Aid Kit on their upcoming North American tour. Fresh from putting the finishing touches on her latest album, it will be a welcomed returned to the US for the Australian artist.

In between writing and recording the new album, Jacklin also teamed up with friends to form the dynamic side project Phantastic Ferniture. The album dropped this summer to great reviews including Rolling Stone who praise Jacklin writing "The singer-songwriter exhales beautifully as she and her bandmates conjure sounds that recall echo-assisted bands on 4AD and IRS, as well as masters of the morose Mazzy Star.” NPR also agree in their review saying "[Phantastic Ferniture] does a really nice job of taking [Julia's] beautiful... plaintive voice and setting it over songs that rock and make you move along with a certain energy to them.

Jacklin will be debuting new material at these shows, don’t miss the chance to see this exceptional artist. All dates are below.

Anemone have teased their upcoming album which is being released through Luminelle Recordings, the label founded by Chris Cantalini of Gorilla Vs Bear, while in Canada, their home country, they will be working with Royal Mountain Records. Today in anticipation the band is dropping an exclusive track early to give fans a glimpse of what's ahead.

"Where you go, I want to be/ A hole inside your head,"  sings ChloĆ© Soldevila on the new single "Daffodils," The line acts as both a promise and a threat - this is music that will stick with you, that will live inside your brain, that will become a part of you forever. This is music that refuses to be ignored.
Gorilia vs Bear premiered the song writing "After winning our hearts forever with their irresistible debut EP and a handful of unforgettable live performances earlier this year at SXSW, Montreal's Anemone return with a soaring new single. The group's dreamily sweeping psych-pop billows skyward like a wave of sunshine on their empowering anthem "Daffodils."

Soldevila goes further, telling us "the song ''Daffodils'' is about being strong and positive, as in fearless and able to let go of someone who is not good for you despite your attachment - I felt like the depiction of the track would need to be in a place where you could feel the metaphor of a vast horizon of open possibilities. Wide and magical open spaces are so powerful to me."

The band have just announced shows in Canada, the US and Europe this fall. All dates are listed below. They will be previewing music from their new album which will be announced in the coming weeks.

Ron Gallo Releases New Single / Video "Do You Love Your Company"

RON GALLO
RELEASES NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO FOR
"DO YOU LOVE YOUR COMPANY"

OUT OCTOBER 5TH
Ron Gallo -

 T

"'Do You Love Your Company' is a song about self-inquiry," says Gallo. "I think a lot of people struggle with being truly alone or fear silence because it forces them to look inward, but ultimately I think it's one of the most important things we can do to understand ourselves and others." Gallo is "tremendously sincere in what he's trying to get the audience to understand: If you're getting impatient in a moment that, on the surface, is meant to encourage inner peace, what does that say about you?" said NPR's World Cafe. "This record finds Gallo essentially erasing himself as he knows it, and turning to broader cosmic concerns."

Stardust Birthday Party is the follow up to Ron Gallo's debut album, Heavy Meta, a "garage rock album whose emphasis on lurid fun doesn't sacrifice depth," said The Guardian, giving it four stars. Mojo called it a "Shrieky-voiced, Jad fair-esque solo set of mid-70s Bowery oddball punk." Stardust Birthday Party is out on October 5th on New West and available for pre-order today. The album will be released digitally, on CD and vinyl.

Ron Gallo will be out on tour in support of Stardust Birthday Party throughout the rest of the year. A festival mainstay - having performed at Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Hang Out, Firefly and sharing stages with White Reaper, Twin Peaks, Ty Segall, The Black Angels and more. He'll play dates throughout the US and Europe this Summer and will head out on a full North American tour this fall. Highlights include Gallo's Hometown of Philly at the First Unitarian Church on November 10th, Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn on November 12th and the final date at The Basement East in Nashville, TN on November 17th. Nina Nesbitt has teamed up with a 6-piece gospel choir to record an acoustic version of Justin Timberlake’s ‘Cry Me a River,’ the classic Timbaland-produced Britney Spears break up track from JT’s 2002 debut ‘Justified.’ Stripped back and raw, Nina’s bittersweet vocal, combined with the choir’s harmonies, lift the track to a whole new level of emotion.

Recorded at Metropolis Studios in London, the track is now available exclusively on Spotify as part of their Spotify SinglesAlso available is an acoustic version of Nina’s current single ‘Loyal To Me,’which was recorded with the same gospel choir.  ‘Loyal to Me’ has now amassed 3 MILLION STREAMS and has received praise from The New York TimesRolling Stone MagazinePAPERBillboard and many more.

“Loyal to me started very stripped back so I wanted to showcase this in the singles session. I've always wanted to perform with a choir and with all the harmonies in the track it seemed like the perfect moment. I feel like you can really hear the lyric in the stripped arrangement and choir give it a new energy.

Cry me a river is one of my favourite 00s songs. I wanted to pick a song that was well known, a classic pop hit and turn it into my own style. I love that I could get 3 vocal octaves in there throughout the song and the melodies gave plenty of room to play around. The lyric of the song is actually really sad and emotional so I wanted to make a version that showcased that.” - Nina

This is not the first time Nina has teamed up with Spotify. In March Nina revealed a new track ‘Psychopath’ for the launch of Spotify’s Louder Together’ initiative, a program bringing artists together to collaborate on an original SpotifySingles song in the spirit of community, empowerment and inspiration – Nina being the only UK artist asked to take part. Coinciding with Women’s History Month, Louder Together’s debut single, ‘Psychopath’ partnered emerging female artists, Sasha Sloan, Nina Nesbitt and Charlotte Lawrence, who came together for the first time to create and record an original Spotify Singles song.

Having grown-up in a small village just outside EdinburghNina Nesbitt enjoyed a whirlwind of success with the ‘Peroxide’ album, but she was soon ready to move on. An organic evolution, her 2016 track ‘Chewing Gum’ was the sound of her breaking out of her comfort zone and indulging fully her love of pop. Her desire to challenge herself continued with the low-key ‘Life in Colour’ EP which found Nina writing emotional and sometimes dark stories that were inspired by experiences which fans had sent to her.

Still only 23-years-old, Nina Nesbitt has found a way to make it work for her in an industry that often doesn’t give you the time to settle into the artist you want to be. Rather than rush into making another album for the sake of it, she waited for the inspiration to strike and let it slowly take shape organically. What she excels at is being an artist, but one that's fully in control – the very best kind.

This fall, Nina will be returning to North America for a 17-date tour with American singer/songwriter MAX. The tour kicks off in Seattle, Washington before winding down the West Coast, hitting major cities including Vancouver, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Denver, Austin, Houston, Dallas, Kansas City and concluding in St. Louis. In the meantime, Nina will be embarking on a number of prominent UK summer festival dates alongside support slots with UK artists James Arthur and Lewis Capaldi.  For a full list of tour dates and ticket information, please visit www.ninanesbittmusic.com/home/#tour.

LIARS (Angus Andrew) has announced Titles With The Word Fountain, a 17-track release and the sequel to 2017’s acclaimed album, TFCFTitles With The Word Fountain will come packaged with TFCFand will be released digitally and via cassette on September 21. A very limited green vinyl edition will follow on November 2. The release coincides with Liars’s first Australian tour since Angus Andrew relocated there two years ago.

Listen to the first track, “Murdrum,” and preorder the Titles With The Word Fountain here.

Titles With The Word Fountain was recorded during the same sessions as TFCF, but this isn’t a collection of leftover material or outtakes. Angus explains, “To me it’s more like a sequel. I chose the songs that appear on TFCF based on how well they addressed the trauma of a failed creative relationship, whereas the material on Titles With The Word Fountain is more playful despite revolving around the same sentiments.”

TFCF was the first Liars release since an amicable departure by founding member Aaron Hemphill. Angus goes on to explain, “There was a lot of pressure in producing TFCF as it was guaranteed to be framed by the lack of band membersWith Titles With The Word Fountain I felt stripped of that burden and more free to include work that could be construed as unclear or abstract.”

Liars will release a limited split single as part of Famous Class’s LAMC series on September 28. The 7” will be available on hand-poured clear, black and red vinyl. Liars chose Tropical Fuck Storm – featuring Drones’s Gareth Liddlard – for the split single. Listen to Tropical Fuck Storm’s track, “The Happiest Guy Around,” here.

1/1, Liars’s first soundtrack – and the last album to be recorded with both Angus Andrew and Aaron Hemphill – was released earlier this year on Mute. Listen to the album here.

QUINN XCII RELEASES DEEPLY PERSONAL NEW SONG “PANAMA” IN MEMORY OF HIS GRANDPARENTS

QUINN XCII RELEASES DEEPLY PERSONAL NEW SONG “PANAMA” IN MEMORY OF HIS GRANDPARENTS

“I made ‘Panama’ over a year ago, commemorating my three grand parents that had passed away during the short span of 7 months. Today, my final grandparent and Nana, Beverly Temrowski, passed away. I figured today would be the best time to release the most personal song I’ve ever made. This song is for my family, my friends, and anyone who has lost someone.

Until we meet again.

Your loving grandson,
- Mike”
