GROUPLOVE RELEASE IMMERSIVE PERFORMANCE OF "WELCOME TO YOUR LIFE" USING 3D-360 TECHNOLOGY ON FACEBOOK

LEAD SINGLE "WELCOME TO YOUR LIFE" CRACKS THE TOP 10 OF THE MODERN ROCK/ALTERNATIVE CHART

October 27, 2016 - (Los Angeles, CA) - Grouplove gave fans an immersive live performance of "Welcome To Your Life" using groundbreaking 3D-360 technology which allows fans to move through the room and watch the band's performance from the angle of their choosing. The video was filmed with Facebook's Surround 360 camera technology, which captured a fully spherical, high-resolution view of the moment.  The 3D-360 experience brings viewers as close as they can get to a live Grouplove performance without actually having tickets to a front-row seat. The innovative music video, which was premiered on Facebook on Friday, can be seen HERE

Grouplove released their critically acclaimed third album Big Mess last month via Canvasback Music/Atlantic Records. The album is available digitally HERE and physically HERE now. The album's lead single "Welcome To Your Life" just entered the Top 10 of the Modern Rock/Alternative Radio Chart at No. 9.  Upon its release this past June, the track was the No. 1 most added song at alternative radio for three consecutive weeks.

Recorded in Los Angeles and Seattle with producers Captain Cuts (Grouplove's own Ryan Rabin) and Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses, The Shins), Big Mess features the signature choruses and infectious hooks that first brought the Los Angeles quintet to prominence. No stranger to the worldwide festival circuit, Grouplove has made an album that showcases their richly narrated songs.

To celebrate the release of Big Mess, Grouplove hosted a fan-generated music video contest through Genero.tv. The band is currently selecting its favorite submission for each track on the album and is rewarding $3,000 to each of the 11 winners. Having already chosen three winners, Grouplove will share the remaining eight selections once every two weeks starting today HERE. Stay tuned for a new winner later today.

Grouplove was honored by the Recording Industry Association of America earlier this year when tracks "Colours" and "Ways To Go" were both certified as Gold Digital Singles for exceeding 500,000 units sold. Grouplove was previously honored by the RIAA when their breakout single "Tongue Tied" was certified platinum for exceeding 1,000,000 units sold.

Grouplove is currently on the road for their Big Mess World Tour with support from Muna and Dilly Dally. One dollar for every ticket sold will be donated to the organization charity: water to help fund water projects like drilled wells, spring protections, and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world. More info can be found HERE. A complete list of upcoming tour dates and ticket information can be found HERE

SLEIGH BELLS Share Music Video for "I Can Only Stare" + Album Out Nov 11

SLEIGH BELLS

Share new video for "I Can Only Stare" -
the music video directorial debut from filmmaker
Alex Ross Perry with Sleigh Bells' Derek Miller
- watch it HERE

Band to perform on BBC2's Later... With Jools Holland on November 1st & 4th

New album, Jessica Rabbit, out November 11th, 2016 via Torn Clean

(Video still from "I Can Only Stare")
Sleigh Bells have today shared a stunning video for their forthcoming single, "I Can Only Stare," the music video directorial debut from the independent filmmaker Alex Ross Perry (Listen Up Philip / Queen Of Earth) along with the band's Derek Miller.

Alex Ross Perry said the following about the video: "I had never been asked to direct anything, at all, ever, prior to Derek reaching out via Instagram about whether or not a collaboration would be something I might consider. I was flattered, and immediately interested. I knew from their prior videos that Sleigh Bells had a particular aesthetic and I was interested in finding ways to bring my working methods to that table. Then instantly, I felt this was a song I could hear a hundred or so times in the filming and editing, which also proved necessary.

From our first conversation, it was clear that Derek and Alexis had a blessedly specific vision for how this video should look, and feel. It was almost like being asked to direct something somebody else had written. However the extent to which the band trusted me to realize these ideas, from shooting on my preferred format of Super 16mm film with my regular cinematographer Sean Price Williams to using rear projection instead of green screen for certain scenes, made me feel like an equal partner whose ideas pushed the concept to places no other director might have pursued."

The band's Derek Miller said the following about the collaboration: "The video follows three doomed women, all played by Alexis. It's bleak but hopefully inspiring, too. Most of us have probably felt like one or all three of these characters at some point in time. I know I have. Making this was cathartic.  We had the privilege of working with Alex Ross Perry, one of my favorite young writer/directors, Sean Price Williams (badass Director of Photography) and a really, really great crew. Alex's last film, Queen of Earth, was one of my favorites of 2015. There's a tense, ominous quality to it which I hoped he would bring to the video. He did. His decision to shoot on Super 16mm film helped avoid the slick crispness we had grown tired of with digital cameras. It was a great experience. And a huge debt is owed to Robert Richardson, my favorite cinematographer. We ripped Mr. Richardson off big time for the rear projection screen performance footage."

"I Can Only Stare" is the latest offering from the Brooklyn-based duo's forthcoming album,Jessica Rabbit, set for release on November 11th, 2016 via the band's newly-formed label Torn Clean in the U.S.

Sleigh Bells, who are known for their intense live shows and commanding stage presence, have also been invited to perform for the first time on BBC2's Later... With Jools Holland on November 1st and 4th, 2016.

Jessica Rabbit is an album that does not sound like anything Sleigh Bells has ever done - or anyone has ever done, for that matter. It is the sonic equivalent of firing synapses, with melodies zig-zagging in different directions in a beautiful and ever-modulating controlled chaos. It is playful but darkly so; flirtatious but caustic; ebullient but downright sinister. Singer Alexis Krauss has moved from the baby coo of the band's earlier material into full powerhouse mode, singing with a visceral urgency that was absent from previous releases. Tempo changes stretch the songs in different directions, like an attention span gone haywire. It is a record that is wholly unique in sound and purpose, an unabashed and unafraid statement from a band that has made offending rote conceptions of pop music their signature and greatest strength.

Jessica Rabbit is available for pre-order now at the following stores: iTunes /  Limited Edition LP / CD.

About Hazel English:

Hazel English is a 25-year-old Oakland-based artist who makes beautifully blurry indie pop powered by transcendent melodies, and caked in layers of Californian sunshine and redolent reverb. Meticulously clad head-to-toe in a seemingly endless supply of dress-up thrift-store costumes, a glance at any of Hazel's social networks reveals a vivid portal into her timeless world, where sun-bleached snaps bely a million possible stories. She's an artist for whom the visuals and music go hand-in-hand.

LISTEN TO "GOD IS A WOMAN" HERE

Miya Folick, the LA-based artist behind last year's acclaimed Strange Darling EP, has just shared the new song "God Is a Woman" on digital platforms. The song already has early worldwide support from Apple Music, where the song was named "World Record" on Zane Lowe's taste-makingBeats 1 show, as well as on Spotify, who have just included the song in several playlists across the platform including a featured slot on the New Indie Mix.The new song trades the bombast of her live shows for a deeply layered, contemplative arrangement, marking the most pop-prone entry in her oeuvre to date.
"God Is a Woman" follows August's stand-alone single "Pet Body," which was widely acclaimed for is uniquely ferocious take on surf-rock and landed her a support slot on the east coast leg of Sleigh Bell's US tour.

"Her gift is capturing the uncertainty, temptation and impulsiveness of those brief but fraught junctures, with music that tells as much of the story as her lyrics." - NEW YORK TIMES
"She already won us over with her incisive songwriting and hair-trigger-dynamic voice on last year's contemplative debut EP Strange Darling, but it's the top-down ferocity of her live shows-think big guitars and bigger wails-in the time since that's had us eagerly awaiting new material." - NOISEY
"Forlorn synths intertwine with guitars and Folick's velvety voice to create a sort of grieving, grunge-folk sound in the same vein of Daughter and Sharon Van Etten." - STEREOGUM

“A new album of Scandinavian protest songs, and the political environment that inspired it… Running Out of Love, [addresses] xenophobia, police brutality, and shady arms dealings. Dig deep and pay attention: This album was made for 2016.” – NPR
“Swedish dream pop… politically charged” – FADER
“Hypnotic” – Consequence of Sound

Swedish dream-pop duo The Radio Dept dropped their fourth album Running Out Of Love last week via Sweden’s Labrador Records.  It's their first album since the critically acclaimed success of 2010’s Clinging To A Scheme, which garnered praise fromConsequence of SoundPitchfork, and more. Running Out Of Love is an album about life in Sweden in 2016 moving in the wrong direction:  politically, intellectually, morally. It's about the impatience that turns into anger, hate and ultimately withdrawal and apathy when love for the world and our existence begins to falter. The band says of the LP:

“In the summer of 2014, ideas and a concept for Running Out Of Love started to come together and the single “Death To Fascism”, now too old to be included, was the first effort towards the new album. Later, more new songs started to appear. The court case is taken care of in “Occupied”, the Swedish weapon and arms industry in “Swedish Guns” and “We Got Game” is about the proud police tradition of protecting nazis and racists, whilst at the same time using brutal violence against opposing groups of protesters. Running Out Of Love has moulded itself into a rather dystopian album, mainly because it was created in a sense of deep frustration over the reactionary currents which characterize our time.”

The album features lead single Swedish Guns which quickly rose #1 HypeM and began charting on the Spotify Viral Chart and gaining wide critical praise, along with the recently released track “We Got Game”. In addition, the Malmö, Sweden based duo have announced North American Tour dates beginning Feb 14, 2017 in support of their politically-charged LP. The 20 date North American tour sees Johan Duncanson & Martin Carlberg return for their first stateside shows since the release of Clinging To A Scheme, appearing at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom, Washington DC’s Black Cat, Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre, Boston’s Brighton Music Hall and many more.
