May 1, 2025 - New York, NY - Last year Nadine Shah released her latest album Filthy Underneath to huge acclaim (including a cover feature with The Guardian) and debuted at #25 in the Official UK Albums Chart, her highest ever entry. This led to her biggest ever live show at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town. Today she follows up with the announcement of her first ever live album - Live In London - which was recorded at the show, mixed by Ben Hillier, and will be released on May 16.

Alongside the release of Filthy Underneath, Nadine had a fantastic 2024 with live shows supporting Young Fathers and then Depeche Mode on their Arena Tour through the UK and Europe followed by her own sold-out UK headline tour in April / May and various summer festivals (including Green Man, Krankenhaus and Edinburgh Festival). She also made her debut TV appearances with full band on Jools Holland.

After several gigs as guest vocalist on The Pogues 40th Anniversary iteration of their Red Roses for Me album tour, Nadine headlined a short winter run of her own across Europe in late November 2024 culminating in the triumphant sold out O2 Forum Kentish Town show in November.

In May of this year, Nadine will join The Pogues for their Rum Sodomy & The Lash tour around the UK (and in the autumn extending to the US) prior to appearances at a range of festivals across the UK including Glastonbury this summer and then opening up for Self Esteem (Nadine guested on the single ‘Lies’ on her current album A Complicated Woman) on her second UK tour this year in October.

Out now is “Greener,” which captures the regret of what could have been while hoping that the grass is greener on the other side.  “Greener is the first song Amara wrote and recorded and was one of the first songs we worked on together,” say Pry. “It has gone through a lot of phases and it is very special to us because it represents a lot about the two of us stylistically- instrumentally and lyrically. Tether You - watch ABOUT PRY: After being introduced by a friend in 2023, Amara Bush and Simeon Beardsley hit the ground running. Bush had been learning bass and guitar during the pandemic and had songs written that she was ready to play, while Beardsley had been in DIY bands in New Mexico for nearly 15 years and was eager to start a project in New York. The duo began sharing demos and would meet to rehearse them with only the support of drum loops on their computer. Not long after, they recruited members for a full band and polished enough material for a live set. They have since solidified themselves as a powerful live act in Brooklyn’s vibrant music scene. Pry are easily distinguished by their wall of sound guitars and bass, out front synthesizer, groove-centered but explosive drumming, and catchy vocal melodies, with a tendency for broad dynamic shifts reflecting their variety of influences, which range from 90’s alternative rock and shoegaze to modern indie and pop.

On June 6^th the highly-established Death In Vegas return with new album ‘Death Mask’, where disintegration, overload and total sonic immersion tell a personal tale. With dirty circuitry and rough-hewn textures at the fore, this is gritty, unpolished techno; an audio outlier that’s full of personality, and a bold artistic statement.

 

Raw in both senses, as well as unbridled electrical grit, ‘Death Mask’ is raw emotionally too. From Death In Vegas’ mainstay Richard Fearless’ own birth in Chingola, Zambia, to his father’s funeral, the album reflects on Fearless’ own life, loved ones, and grief. Seeped in heavy emotions and torrents of volts, the results are some of the most strikingly visceral and human electronic sounds you’ll hear.

 

Multiple thematic channels are fed through Death in Vegas’ machines, with Fearless literally processing his feelings, working them through as a form of electronic primal therapy. More than just tattered gnarliness though, an unconventional beauty radiates through the noise. Like light refracting through a filthy, cracked stained-glass-window, icy IDM melancholy juxtaposes perfectly, with caustic rave power.

 

A moment of intimacy and healing resolution on the album is its pivotal arc – ‘Your Love’ – where Fearless finds solace in the care from his partner, whose whispered vocals glide over nerve-tingling synths, which radiate an icy rapture, like stepping out of a rave at 6am, cold, frazzled, but beatific, still glowing in ecstasy.

 

Biog:

 

Richard Fearless began as resident DJ at the Job Club in London’s Soho during the 90s, where he’d play alongside Claude Young, Derrick May, Dave Angel and Andrew Weatherall. After a few years he was picked as a resident for the legendary Heavenly Social, alongside the Chemical Brothers. It was during this time that he started Death in Vegas. 

 

Across the six Death In Vegas albums, guest vocalists have included Dot Allison, Bobby Gillespie, Iggy Pop, Jim Reid from The Jesus and Mary Chain and Mazzy Star’s Hope Sandoval.

 

‘The Contino Sessions’ was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, and its single ‘Aisha’ was a top 10 hit in the UK. The title track from the album ‘Scorpio Rising’ reached 14 in the UK charts.

 

Death In Vegas performed their much-loved single ‘Dirge’ on Jools Holland in 2000, then a quarter century later, in testament to its enduring appeal, the track was sampled by Celeste on her recent single ‘Everyday’.

 

Their music has featured in many TV programmes and films, most notably Sofia Coppola's ‘Lost in Translation’, ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’,  and ‘The Animatrix’.

 

Gigs played include Atonal Berlin, Movement in Detroit, Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, Coachella, Brixton Academy, Fabric, Fuji Rock, Primavera Sound and Manchester Academy.
