December 3rd, 2021 - Today, iconic British duo Tears For Fears have released “No Small Thing,” the second single off their highly anticipated first studio album in seventeen years, THE TIPPING POINT, arriving February 25th, 2022 via Concord Records. Written by both band members, Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, the guitar strums pull you in with their folk-like tone, but slowly morph into controlled chaos, as Roland and Curt push the song’s sonics as far as they can go. We needed a meeting of minds, a coming together psychically. We were literally going back to the drawing board looking for some depth, heart and soul with which to complete our album. Curt came up with this simple folk/country riff, a little bit Dylan, a little bit Johnny Cash, and then we were off. It was the complete opposite of what we had been trying to do for many years – searching for the elusive, modern hit single. We felt suddenly unencumbered, free if you like, no longer worrying about the market, about success, but drawing on influences from our childhoods. It was at this point that the whole album started opening up. ‘No Small Thing’ was the key, the thing that turned a red light green,” Roland said.   “‘No Small Thing’ feels like it could have been a song from a seventies or sixties acoustic folk album with how the track starts. The fact that we felt confident enough to go from there to the end of the song to where it’s just absolute mayhem speaks to that sense of freedom, and that’s our comfort zone musically,” Curt added.    Inspired by Koyaanisqatsi, the “No Small Thing” music video was made using solely found footage showing the conflict between individual freedoms and collective responsibility. Watch it HERE. In November, the band also announced THE TIPPING POINT WORLD TOUR, with support from Garbage on the U.S. leg. Kicking off in Cincinnati, OH on May 20th, 2022, these dates will see the band performing in over twenty cities across North America before capping off with their last show in Wantagh, NY on June 25th, 2022. These dates will mark the band’s first U.S. tour since 2017. Anybody who has witnessed a live performance of Anna von Hausswolff and band can attest to the extraordinary and commanding nature of the experience. The distinctive music, as captured across five full-length albums, comes to life, shifting from hypnotic and mantra-like moods to thunderous drama, dissonance and cacophony. The musicians master playful dynamics and wield immense power.

Following the release of her solo pipe organ album All Thoughts Fly and an accompanying sell-out European tour (Nov/Dec 2021), this January, Southern Lord are releasing Anna von Hausswolff, Live at Montreux Jazz Festival (2018).

Across six pieces, Anna von Hausswolff performs sensational renditions of fan-favorites from the two beloved albums; The Miraculous and Dead Magic, with the backing of a full band including additional vocals from her sister / cinematographer Maria von Hausswolff (full credits can be found below).

The infamous Montreux Jazz Festival is one of the largest annual jazz festivals, now operating for over 50 years. About the experience Anna von Hausswolff remarks:

"In the beginning of 2013 I was texting back and forth with my friend Albin Oskarsson. He wanted me to come and play at a jazz festival that he was living nearby, it was Montreux Jazz Festival. At that point I was still quite unknown outside Sweden and regardless of my friend's many attempts to contact the festival they never returned to him with an offer. I gave up the idea, he did not. Later that same year he unexpectedly died and a few years later, in 2017, an email popped up in my inbox, it was a request to open for Nick Cave and the bad seeds at the Montreux jazz festival. The tragedy that Albin was still not around to share the excitement with me gave me sorrow.

But, through the magic of music comfort came. The show was an emotional turmoil of ecstasy and grief, shared with an incredible audience and atmosphere. And, eventually, I could see his face in the venue, floating above all others, smiling and waving towards me.  I’m so happy to have been given this moment  and I’m beyond grateful to Montreux Jazz Festival, John Harris and Mathieu Jaton who so beautifully recorded this special concert that I will keep close to my heart forever and ever."

Live at Montreux Jazz Festival was mixed on the “Queen Neve” desk, previously owned by Queen (thus the name ) and situated at the Mountain Studios in the casino of Montreux, now ­located at Svenska Grammofonstudion, Gothenburg - further capturing the magic.

NICK DORIAN'S 'ROOSTER' LP OUT NOW

Today, Nick Dorian releases his new album Rooster via Boom.Records. Drawing inspiration from his Uncle Gaetano' Guy' Valentini's love and commitment to his pet rooster, "Come On." The introspective project spans 10-track's that touch on themes of nostalgia, self-doubt, love, restlessness, yearning, and deep life ruminations.  Recorded with GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Gabe Wax and co-produced by Nick Dorian, Rooster serves as a follow up to 2019's Planet Stardom and finds the multi-hyphenate expanding his sound across the pensive songs. Dorian's rich whiskey-hued vocals are at the forefront of the profoundly relatable and subdued tracks found on the LP. Dedicated to Guy and Come On, Guy's favorite pet rooster and the undeclared guardian of the Country Chain Chapel (a museum and barbershop Guy built on his property in Holland's Landing, Ontario, Canada). In 1995, Guy commemorated Come On with a larger-than-life statue that broke the Guinness World Record for being the tallest rooster monument in the world.  "My uncle's love and commitment to this bird is yet another reminder of how much you can get out of something so little. With love, there's always something to crow about." Nick shares.  Rooster includes the previously released singles "Television", "Follow The Leader", and recently released album closer "An Old Idea". Speaking on Rooster, Nick shares: "Uncle Gaetano "Guy" Valentini was a Mandolin-playing, longest beard award-winning, rooster-owning immigrant from Italy who spent most of his life building a museum on his property in Holland's Landing, Ontario, Canada. Among the many knick-knacks and quotes, the museum contained a chapel, a "barberchop," and the largest rooster monument in North America. Guy was always happy to receive visitors (or haircut-seeking customers) and would never let you leave without saying hello to the guardian of the land, his pet rooster named "Come On." The museum no longer exists. May it live on through this album."  Nick's Rooster is akin to Guy's rooster: the guardian of his land, that difficult nonsensical thing he corrals, that thing he's loyal to, that thing he shows off to everyone he meets. "Come on, let me address you. Your name's the request. If you make a museum to the truth of what you love maybe you'll stop forgetting why you love it, maybe you can show others what it means to you. 	Dec. 3, 2021, LOS ANGELES – The Neverly Boys, the Los Angeles-based duo of TV on The Radio’s David Sitek and acclaimed songwriter/producer Daniel Ledinsky (Carly Rae Jepsen, CeeLo Green, Pussy Riot), have released an enhanced version of their debut album, making Dark Side of Everything Deluxe available today via Alchemy Recordings/BMG (https://theneverlyboys.lnk.to/DarkSide-Deluxe). The newly expanded release includes a cover of the Dolly Parton classic “9 to 5,” with a video arriving today (https://youtu.be/PlbZ7yB26RU). In addition to the re-released collection and new video, Sitek and Ledinsky have partnered with S!NG to create a multimedia version of the album via a newly-minted NFT. Each of the 12 tracks received a unique art piece companion, with a trio of available NFTs up for auction now (http://www.singmarket.com). The artwork and content is in collaboration with Ghost Atomic Pictures. Only stickier.” In a Fall 2020 interview with Relix Magazine, Sitek described the duo’s music as “lonely astronaut music.”

	Dec. 2, 2021, PORTLAND – Red Fang, whose highly-anticipated new album, Arrows, arrived over the Summer, give fans an opportunity to try out their own Katana-skills as seen in the band’s “Arrows” video, with the new, single player “Blade To Waste” video game.
