White Lung Unveil Video for "Dead Weight" - Polaris Prize Nomination

WHITE LUNG UNVEILS NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR "DEAD WEIGHT"

WHITE LUNG SHORTLISTED FOR POLARIS PRIZE

Photo: Rick Rodney

Canadian punk band White Lung has topped numerous "Best Album So Far" lists this year including Stereogum, Rolling Stone, Vulture, Paste, Consequence of Sound, NME and more for their latest and most mature effort to date -
Paradise. Now the band has been shortlisted for the Polaris Prize alongside artists including Carly Rae Jepsen, Grimes and Kaytranada.

Today, White Lung has unveiled the music video for "Dead Weight," directed by John Stavas and co-produced by Deap Vally's Lindsey Troy. The clip features lead singer Mish Barber-Way in her Los Angeles home, head-banging her way through the track in hyper-kinetic fast forward. Much like the song, its an all-out assault on the senses and not for the faint of heart, or those prone to seizures.

White Lung continues their US tour this week including a stop at this year's inaugural Panorama Festival in New York City. The band will be on tour in the US and Canada throughout August and September.

"The quartet are banshees, pummeling their demons with speeds and screams so loud and fast that masochism matures into pleasure. Despite this, in between soberingly honest anecdotes regarding body dysmorphia, substance abuse, and trauma, White Lung are romantic. In this style, "Kiss Me When I Bleed" explores the inherent relationship between desire and disgust. The result is like if the lawless, drug-addled characters in a Harmony Korine film decided to adapt Romeo and Juliet." - PITCHFORK

"Mish Barber-Way's deadliest vocal delivery to date" - BILLBOARD

"the best punk band of the current decade." - BROOKLYN VEGAN

"...we're not going to stop shoving them down your throat until you accept it and White Lung becomes the biggest band in the world" - NOISEY

"hot shit-all uptempo restlessness and witchy swagger-full of renewed raw power at every transition." - VICE

Katy Goodman & Greta Morgan have shared their haunting cover of the Gun Club's "Sex Beat." Noisey premiered the "Sex Beat" video -- directed by Morgan -- which shows the duo recording the track at Los Angeles' CompNY studio. "The original is a jittery punk number, but in the hands of the girls their song takes on a gilded Laurel Canyon earthiness," says Noisey.

Honeyblood Announce New Album 'Babes Never Die' out 10/28

HONEYBLOOD ANNOUNCE BABES NEVER DIE
OUT ON FATCAT RECORDS OCTOBER 28TH, 2016

PREMIERE NEW SINGLE + VIDEO FOR "READY FOR THE MAGIC"

Honeyblood are back in formidable form. Today the Glasgow two-piece - frontwoman Stina Tweeddale and drummer Cat Myers- premiered incendiary new single and video "Ready For Magic", as well as announcing their second album, the emphatically titled Babes Never Die which is out on Fat Cat Records October 28th.

The follow-up to their eponymous debut, Honeyblood arrived in 2014 as a surprise splash, with stellar from New York Times to Pitchfork.'Ready for The Magic' is a remarkable introduction to Honeyblood 2.0. Both one of their most intense and most intensely catchy tracks to date. Its detuned doom riffage and disco-punk rhythms make space for a tornado of a chorus ode to "the explosive nature of infatuation". The video, a collaboration between the band and director Thomas James, is set in post-apocalyptic Scottish countryside, and follows a tribe of young feral girls who've been abandoned and left to fend for themselves in a dystopian world. We won't completely spoil its ending, but safe to say that Stina and Cat meet a grizzly fate.

The leader of the video's feral girl tribe finds herself pride of place as the cover star of the 'Babes Never Die' album, in beautiful photographic artwork shot by German photographer Amira Fritz. "I loved the idea of this feral tribe of young badass girls causing chaos," explains frontwoman Stina Tweeddale. "It's an image that chimes with what the album is all about." Of the album's title she explains: "I guess you could call it a war cry; to have the faith to never let yourself be defeated." Babes Never Die is certainly not a shy motto, and one that's triumphant sentiment rings throughout Honeyblood's exceptional sophomore record. Recorded winter 2016 with acclaimed producer James Dring (Jamie T, Gorillaz) during candle-burning sessions at London's Fish Factory studios, it will be released November 2nd and is available to pre-order now along with the new single. "The title is my own mantra," Stina says. "I think it's something I tell myself every day. Indifference is a plague. Giving up and turning a blind eye will be the end of us. Never before has that been more true."

Babes Never Die is out October 28th on Fat Cat Records.

Dilly Dally's noisy, ferocious debut Sore (released fall 2015 to critical acclaim) propelled the Toronto-based 4piece into an even busier 2016. Sore was included in the 2016 Polaris Music Prize's long list of nominees and "Desire" is up for SOCAN Song Of The Year.

After taking SXSW by storm (which you can hear now via Spotify Sessions), the punk act co-headlined a North American tour with Fat White Family. While on the road, they spent time with FADER who captured their "visceral postcard to NYC", as well as Opening Ceremony who picked their brains about Toronto's up-and-coming music scene and what punk rock even means today.

Next up, they will play a string of US and Canadian festivals, headline a European tour and then join Grouplove on a North American fall tour.  All dates below and here
