June 18, 2026—Colombian singer-songwriter Sofia Cordoba confirms her first English-language EP, North Star, for September 11. A new single, “Blisters,” is available today—listen/share HERE.

“Thematically, North Star feels like a continuation of my music in Spanish, which for the last couple of years has helped me make sense of the uncertainty that comes with growing,” says Cordoba. “As I started releasing music, I experimented with different sounds and pulled from different genres I love to figure out what I wanted my music to sound like. North Star feels like my first collection of songs that is grounded in a specific sound — a product of those years of searching. It also encapsulates the last two years of my life, in which I finally made peace with the beauty of not knowing.”

Based in Bogotá, Cordoba has been releasing music in Spanish since 2023, opening arenas in South America and building anticipation for her debut. Cordoba’s fresh voice and diary-like songwriting is reminiscent of the best of the 2000s and is quickly drawing the attention of a wider international audience.

Her latest single, “Blisters,” captures the emotional complexity that has become a hallmark of her writing. “I wrote Blisters after going to a five-year school reunion. Those things always stir up a lot of emotions — nostalgia, fear and acceptance of change,” Cordoba shares. “It’s one of the few songs I’ve written that just poured out as a sort of stream of consciousness. It felt like a relief to be able to release all these contrasting feelings, all tainted by uncertainty, into a song that I’m very proud of.”

“Blisters” follows last month’s “Symptom of Love,” which was released to immediate praise from BBC 6 Music, Apple Music’s Matt Wilkinson Show, Line of Best Fit, 10 Magazine, and more. The track was accompanied by a music video self-directed by Cordoba and Esmé Thompson—watch/share here.

Raised on her parents’ music and early exposure to live shows, Cordoba found connection through music from a young age. A shy kid, she began with piano before moving to guitar at eight, eventually writing her first songs as a teenager. Her influences range widely, from Gustavo Cerati and Charly García to Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Lana Del Rey and Shakira.

Growing up in Colombia played a major role in shaping her voice. “Music was everywhere, it felt like the one thing that could bring a very polarized country together. There are also so many different influences and sounds blending together here.”

At its core, Cordoba’s work is about connection. “Music has always been a means of connection for me. What I want most is for people to feel understood, and hopefully feel connected to my words and to each other.”
