“Sometimes there’s simply nothing better than a beautiful post-punk song. Melbourne's Radio Free Alice cracked the code…”

- STEREOGUM

"One of the best bands that I've heard coming out of Australia this year."

- MATT WILKINSON, APPLE MUSIC 1

“Why the f*ck would you come to one of their shows? You come for the precise post-punk riffs. You come for the endless energy and enthusiastic lyrics. You stay to watch one of Australia’s most exciting guitar bands in years up close.”

- ROLLING STONE AUSTRALIA

“Forwarding a baton passed by acts like Arctic Monkeys and The Kooks, Radio Free Alice has found a way to bottle electricity with searing drums and gripping lyrics.”

-ONES TO WATCH

Australian new wave/post-punk band Radio Free Alice today releases their new single “Lunch Money” along with an official video. Fueled by punchy melodic urgency, jangly guitars, and a driving bass line, frontman Noah Learmonth’s rough-hewn expressive delivery is positioned front and center. Making their debut release on Atlantic Records / Warner Music Australia, the new song comes as they premiere it live at Governors Ball Festival in New York, before heading off on a run of festivals in Europe and the UK — Stream.

“‘Lunch Money’ came together last year in a soundcheck in Nottingham while on tour in the UK,” shared Learmonth. “It was the back-end of the tour and it had started getting really cold. I remember us writing it on the stage at the empty venue, all with jackets, scarves and gloves on. It was one of those songs that came together pretty instantly.”

Today’s single arrives in tandem with an official video directed by Pema Baldwin. Trying New York City on for size, the band follows their curiosity from the wall-to-wall displays of gift shops, to the quiet moments alone out on the fire escape — Watch.

Over the last year, Radio Free Alice released their EP Empty Words as well as the breakout track “Rule 31, the latter of which received praise from Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, Alternative Press, a live session on BBC 6 Music and more. They played their first North American tour with three sold-out performances in New York City, stops at The Lot Radio and WFUV, and a set at Shaky Knees in Atlanta. Other highlights include opening for Geese on their sold-out Australian tour, selling out six shows in London last year, and performing at Reading and Leeds Festival

The coming months will see no shortage of new music and tour dates from the band on the brink of a major moment in their young careers.
