(May 14, 2026) - The Garden, the duo of twin brothers Fletcher and Wyatt Shears, announces their new album Bootleg due July 10th, today. Bootleg is the 8th studio album from the Orange, California-bred band and includes the previously shared single “Ugly.” Alongside the album announcement, The Garden shares the new song “5 Mile Ponytail,” which arrives with a music video directed by Will Sipos, Fletcher Shears and Wyatt Shears portraying the band performing on the side of a winding highway and riding in a vintage whip with the 5 mile ponytail.

Speaking about Bootleg, The Garden shares, "’Bootleg’ is a compilation of songs written and recorded overtime with no particular intent or goal in mind. This album is and was purely a pleasurable endeavor by us both. Every track has its own meaning or story, not unlike a chapter book of different narratives."

Bootleg is the highly-anticipated follow up to The Garden’s 2022 album HORSESHIT ON ROUTE 66, which includes the tracks “Freight Yard” and “Chainsaw the Door,” and the 2024 EP Six Desperate Ballads, which includes the track “Ballet.” The Garden just wrapped a run of sold out headline shows across the West Coast this spring, including a massive show at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, which was captured by The Cobra Snake for Alternative Press

Since forming in 2011, The Garden has cultivated their own community of dedicated and eclectic fans around the globe, honed in on their singular “Vada Vada” sound of slick, catchy riffs paired with hostile, calculated drums, and established a visual aesthetic that feels both haunted and arthouse. The Garden has also become known for their high-energy live shows where the band displays aggressive and belligerent behavior on stage balanced with technical precision and emotive grooves. The Garden has collaborated with Mac Demarco on the track “Thy Mission” and toured with the likes of TURNSTILE, Knocked Loose, JPEGMafia, Flipper, Iceage, L7, Alice Glass, Snow Strippers, Show Me The Body and many more in recent years. Fletcher also creates electronic material with his side project Puzzle while Wyatt has his indie / alternative project Enjoy
