FEBRUARY 19, 2026 – Indie trio Bedelia have released new track “Valley Sadness.” The hazy, hypnotizing offering builds on the sonic world and themes introduced with debut single “Tightrope,” reflecting on the ways our hometowns shape us. “I’ll see you when I see you / Never change, love you always,” sings Marisa Shirar as her soft vocals wash over the track, navigating the conflicting emotions of wanting to escape the place you grew up only to realize you miss it once you’re gone.
Miles Morris shared, “This song is about growing up in the San Fernando Valley where we experienced many of our pivotal moments. (First loves, heartbreak, death, etc…) Things that you carry with you no matter where you go. You can feel stuck in your hometown and decide to leave just to find out you miss it. The emotion and feeling of the song is perfectly laid out in the chorus lyrics; they sound like ‘goodbye,’ but truly mean, ‘I’ll be around.’”
Earlier this month, Bedelia debuted their first single “Tightrope,” a “dreamy” (Alt Press) track that received praise from The Line of Best Fit, Alternative Press, and more. The single arrived alongside an official video directed by Isaac Westberg with DP Jack Duffy (Turnstile, Mannequin Pussy, Fiddlehead).

The Valley-bred band is a new project formed by drum and bass player Miles Morris (from Rolling Stone-lauded LA indie rock outfit Bad Suns), Fleshwater vocalist Marisa Shirar (whose “towering melodies” have been praised by Stereogum, Pitchfork, The FADER and more), and guitarist Dakota Floeter (Ethel Cain).
About Bedelia:
In 2025, Bad Suns drummer Miles Morris found himself in a period of transition, writing music with no clear home. Inspired, he turned to his childhood friend Marisa Shirar, and Bedelia quickly took shape, becoming a creative vessel for the change and grief the pair were each navigating in their own lives. With Dakota Floeter’s dreamy guitar tones, Bedelia arrives sounding familiar and new all at once.
Stay tuned for more from Bedelia soon.
