Brooklyn band Ringing announce debut album with “incandescent"

Heralding the announcement is “incandescent,” which premieres today with an official visualizer. The song treks through sludgy guitars, capturing the discomfort of self-realization.  "This song is about admitting that you aren’t happy with the way you’re living your life," Colton explains. "It’s not an easy thing to confront, but it’s a necessary first step." Known for their monumental sound and visceral lyricism, the band’s last EP, Is It Light Out Where You Are?, arrived in 2023 via Julia’s War and Candlepin Records.  After playing all over the East Coast over the past few years, Ringing has supported bands like Bleary Eyed, Shower Curtain, All Under Heaven, Soft Blue Shimmer, and more. ABOUT RINGING: With inclement weather ahead, coming upon some shoegaze antiquity and kicking it further down the road, Ringing creates a free flow of sound and consciousness unhindered by its brutalist edge. another cycle in the cosmic wash was recorded live in a single session back in 2024, capturing the band's instinctual use of dynamics and space across the 10 tracks. But after the session, Colton Walker scrapped the lyrics, finding himself to not be singing about anything particular – caught up in the demands of playing loud and being unspecifically sad. Another Cycle is a conscious effort from Ringing, who spent the following year with these tunes in their back pocket, working towards what it means to finally believe in what is coming out of the speakers.  Starting as a solo project in 2020 by Walker, Ringing has since become a volatile source of sonic inclusion, one of impact and energy, grand and gritty. As Ringing began to find their footing as a full band, their sound became more unfretted and unguarded with each live show and subsequent release. Breaking apart instrumental fixations, Ringing splinters the impenetrable wall of noise that is Another Cycle with coordinated expositions of harsh landscapes, worn-in melodies, and a well-intentioned heart.
