Annabelle Chairlegs, the moniker of Austin based singer-songwriter Lindsey Mackin, today has shared her new single "Patty Get Your Gun"–the final preview of her upcoming Ty Segall-produced LP Waking Up, out this Friday, January 30th via TODO Records. The raucous, sun-kissed track follows album singles singles "Heavy Sleeper," "Concrete Trees," and "Ice Cream On The Beach," which have earned praise and support from The Guardian, Uncut, Brooklyn Vegan, KUTX, Clunk Magazine, and more.
Mackin on "Patty Get Your Gun": "Be about sumthin’. Be curious. Have humility. Join your community and fight for what you believe in and also fight for those who can’t. The world is on fire and we should be on fire too."
Mackin also is set to play some headlining live shows, including her record release show in Austin, TX at Mohawk on February 13th and an in-store show at Austin's Waterloo Records on February 4th. She will also be playing Austin Psych Fest on May 9th alongside The Black Angels, Ty Segall, and Melody's Echo Chamber. A European tour is currently in the works for September, stay tuned for details.
Waking Up was produced and recorded by Ty Segall in Topanga, CA, with Nick Cornetti on drums and Derek Strahan on bass. On the LP, Mackin finds herself exploring grittier, more mechanical textures, while maintaining her knack for blissful hooks and melodies. Following two self-released records, Waking Up marks Chairlegs’ third full-length release, and her first for TODO, ushering in a bold new chapter for the Austin mainstay. The vinyl edition of the LP will feature two bonus tracks, "I Feel So Mad" and "Beef Witted."
