Alexander Laurence is a writer, poet, translator, and editor whose work spans four decades across poetry, prose, translation, and literary curation. He is the author of Five Fingers Make a Fist (short stories, 2007) and THE ANALOG BODY: The Collected Poems 1984–2024 (2024). His forthcoming book, The Dieppe Circuit, continues his long-standing engagement with narrative, memory, and cultural fracture.
Alexander Laurence’s writing has appeared in a wide range of influential books, anthologies, and collections, including The Grove Press Number (1990), The Adobe Anthology (1994), Degenerative Prose (1995), American Book Jam (1999), Grove Press Reader 1951–2001 (2000), The Hipster Handbook (2004), Expelled From Eden: A William T. His French translation of Maurice Roche’s CodeX appeared in Talisman and Apalachee Quarterly (1995), reflecting a sustained interest in experimental literature and cross-cultural transmission.
Since 1993, Alexander Laurence has worked as an editor and publisher, founding and editing Cups Magazine, Siren Magazine, Spec Magazine, Free Williamsburg, and The Portable Infinite, platforms known for championing innovative and independent writing. His editorial work continues to the present.
