Press quotes on HEY GARY/HEY DAWN

“It’s intense and complex, with discordant arrangements and chaotic breaks that incorporate elements of proto-prog eccentricity, psychedelic bloom, and a sudden burst of pure punk wrath into the mix. And paired with Jones’ unsettling vocal delivery, Hey Gary, Hey Dawn is an ominous whirlwind of an album that sits at the intersection of fascinating and hair-raising.”

The Fader

“…a carnival of some of the most wonderfully strange ideas to populate the relatively staid history of indie rock.”

Flood Magazine

 “…echoes In Utero-era Nirvana and Congratulations-era MGMT”

MXDWN

“This is Caleb’s fourth album now and he’s just getting better and better, shedding the dense, chameleon-like concepts of “Mother Stone” and the freaked-out psyche of “Gadzooks”, and adding a kind of Syd Barrett does Nirvana.”

Tomorrow (September 13) actor-musician Caleb Landry Jones will release a digital deluxe version of his critically lauded album Hey Gary, Hey Dawn11 new songs are added to the album’s original 13. These previously unheard pieces weave seamlessly into the original sonic tapestry, finally seeing the light of day as a digital exclusive. Jones remarks, “11 more songs than a vinyl can hold. It's additional contents I can only refer to as the rest of the album. I hope there are those of you out there who appreciate the longer listen with more bubble gum gump pixie romps to cultivate the shrinking hour.”

Jones heralds the album’s release by sharing two new music videos.

“The Moonkey Light” is a frenetic animated music video made by Brooklyn based Aidan Stadler.
