(July 12, 2024) - 17-year-old Chenayder releases her new EP Maybe In Another Life via Alamo Records. The eight-track project includes the previously released singles “Colors” featuring South Carolina’s Mavi, “Goodbye,” which was originally released in 2023, “Teen Heartbreak,” which arrived with a video directed by Legit Looks (Lisa Torres and Eric Bastiani), and the focus track “Levels,” that is produced by Grammy award-winning duo The Outfit (Robin Hannibal and Dan Edinberg). Following the release, an Ariel Poupart directed video for “Levels” will arrive on July 15.
Speaking about Maybe In Another Life, Chenayder shares, “‘Maybe in Another Life’ is about exploring perspectives and how you would do things differently on an alternative path (or you could say in an alternate reality). The experiences I cover aren’t necessarily my own, but I’m imagining different scenarios and working through them in my songs.”
Following her performance at the Los Angeles festival Donovan’s Yard last month, Chenayder will be performing at New York City’s Baby’s All Right next Wednesday, July 17th alongside Ovrkast for the Move Forward Music x Pigeons & Planes hosted show. Tickets are available HERE. Additionally, Chenayder will be joining Mavi on his Shadowbox Tour for a string of five shows this September and October with stops in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Boston, Seattle and Los Angeles. See full routing below.
The Maybe In Another Life EP follows Chenayder’s debut EP Blue Oblivion, which was released last year and includes the tracks “Strawberry Perfume” and “Off The Wall.” As Chenayder utilized hall passes in her Orlando high school to discreetly slip away to the restroom and capture TikTok renditions of her songs, her stardom soared over the past year. The then-sophomore student garnered recognition from idols appearing on every teen's bucket list such as SZA and Tyler, The Creator. Last month, Chenayder sat with Okayplayer for their First Look Friday series to discuss her influences, how she began writing music, and her recently released singles. Chenayder also recently visited the studio at beans & bars for a live performance of her single “Teen Heartbreak,” which you can watch HERE.
