(July 17, 2024) - The ever-ethereal Alice Longyu Gao shares xer new single “Detective Alice神探埃粒司” today. The new song closely follows Alice’s Pride Month special offering of 2024 “<3 Lesbians” and introduces fans to Detective Alice, a new character of ALG World that presents xer forthcoming mini album coming this Fall, which concludes ALG’s debut trilogy of projects. Alice collaborated with Donni Davy, head makeup artist of Euphoria and the founder of Half Magic Beauty to create this new character in ALG World. “Detective Alice神探埃粒司” occupies a unique space in Alice Longyu Gao’s discography to-date, written to sound like a stream of consciousness straight from Detective Alice’s mind with production that combines harp playing, electronic music, inspiration from traditional Chinese scales and shoegaze records.
ALG World exists because there was no world for people like Alice Longyu Gao. This next phase of xer career with ALG World is an all-encompassing creative endeavor for Alice that transcends music and is meant to be a fertile home for abstract expressionism across disciplines, creating a space to house and incubate the many facets of Alice’s creative identity and provide a safe place for folks to enter and experience.
Alice just came off a run of shows supporting Danny Brown across North America and on July 26th, Alice will be performing a special anime music-inspired set at San Diego Comic Con’s Crunchyroll stage. Earlier this summer, Alice brought her unique Alice The Club experience around North America, performing and DJing for people looking to connect their soul and energy with beats and an expressive artistic community in San Francisco, Portland, Boise, Philadelphia and Brooklyn.
Alice Longyu Gao has been a pioneer at the forefront of xer own since 2018. Now with a multitude of popular singles under xer belt, including “LEGEND” with Alice Glass, “MAKE U 3 ME,” “MONK” and “HELLO KITTY” along with collaborations and remixes with the likes of Oli Sykes (Bring Me The Horizon), PVRIS, Mura Masa, Tommy Genesis, Alice Glass, Dylan Brady, Laura Les and more. Alice has established xyrself as a force to be reckoned with and has much more music to share from xer fantasy world to ours.
